This has been going on for months and it may begin as a rant. (Sorry!)
August 31st, we change supplier to Ecotricity. I provide a reading to Powergen for the final bill and one is taken officially. They never send me the final bill. I phone and phone. No return calls.
Over the next few months, they do not return a single call, set up a direct debit and lose they money we paid and various other bits of nonsense. In January, we get a bill for just under £300. I complain but arrange to pay it in instalments. They don't take the money out of our account.
More phoning. More calls not returned. More nonsense.
Finally I contact Energywatch. They have a bit of a word and I finally get a call from Powergen. They say they miscalculated and the amount should be almost £100 less. Okay, now I owe them £200.
Now we're getting somewhere. They offer £19 compensation. Here are my exact words:
'Please come back to me tomorrow when you are able to offer me a sensible amount of compensation.' More talking. They agree to call back. :rotfl:
Today, my £300 bill stood at £100. I paid it immediately. I am waiting for a letter of apology and confirmation that my account is closed.
Thanks to the site, I was able to stand my ground and fight for what I knew were my rights. And demand compensation, knowing that £19 was an unacceptable amount given the amount we'd been messed about.

May all your dots fall silently to the ground.

Well done, they phoned me the other day as I had changed provider & I said I would stay with them if they would offer me the same deal as offered on Tesco website for new duel fuel customers 2500 Tesco clubcard points, I was not offered & given the same deal = declined.
Strange company, why won't they offer a leaving customer the same deal as as a new customer?0
