Post Exchange Solicitor Requests
Hi there I exchanged on my apartment 2 weeks ago and we still hadn’t received the sales pack from the management agent - the buyer was happy to exchange without it in order to get to that point. However, their/my solicitor is now asking me to get the pack from the agent (at a fee) despite having exchanged and completing…

Can a third party pay SDLT or does it have to come from us
My mother has offered to pay our SDLT for when we buy a house, hopefully this summer. As I understand it we'll have to prove the funds are available for the mortgage offer to complete, but does it have to be in our names? If she is able to pay it on our behalf, how does that factor into inheritance tax laws? Fingers…

Financially preparing for mortgage - how far do you go?
Apologies if this has been covered to death in the past (tried to search for similar threads). Partner and I are currently in the process of buying our first home. Thoughts on areas of the UK that have cheap £150k detached housing?
I’ve been looking ‘online’ at £140-160k (sometimes a lot
less) detached houses around Durham, Carlisle and parts of Wales and Scotland.
Does anyone on here live in such an area, and can let me know what I should
expect, or suggest any other areas in the UK with similar house prices. Work and commute travel are not a…

Moving house. But not found new one. What do you do with 300k for 2-3 months.
We will sell house in 4 weeks. So moving out and Equity will land in the bank. Down sizing so looking for new house but not found right one yet. Whats best way to keep money. I presume 20k in cash isa, <85k in multiple companies instant/limited access savings. Then bring it all back to current account when ready.

What is this antenna?
This antenna is on the house we are buying. There is also a TV aerial. Looks like a radio ham or taxi company antenna but can anyone confirm if it might be anything important for a residential property??

Cavity Wall Insulation and Documentation during house sale
Hi there I would appreciate your advice regarding documentation for CWI and house sales. We bought our house in 2014 and received no documentation regarding CWI.
