TR1 (transfer) form

My buyers solicitor made mistake on tr1 form by not using our full names. I pointed this to my solicitor who sent it back for amendment.
The buyer solicitor made another mistake on my wife’s surname by missing 1 letter out, again I pointed it out to my solicitor assistant and she sent it back again for amendment. This has been over 1 week back and my solicitor has not received the TR1 back. My sale and purchase has been dragging on since October and my buyer is getting impatient.

If your question is "What can I do to get the TR1 back from the buyer's solicitor?" then answer is easy; talk to the buyer. They engaged the solicitor, and if they are getting impatient it would be best for them to shout at their solicitor rather than take it out on the seller of the property.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

I have emailed the EA to chase the buyers solicitor has I don’t have buyers contact details.
The EA didn’t reply to my email today, maybe she on holiday due to half term.
  • In most cases, these minor mis-spellings don't actually make a lot of difference.
And since you are the seller, why do you care anyway?
On Completion, you'll receive your money.
The buyer will receive the TR1. If there is an issue with registereing the property in the buyer's name because of the erroneous spelling, so what? You can still buy your next property, or swan off the Caribbean (Covid allowing) for a holiday, with the money you receive.
    Not your problem.

Unfortunately I already informed my solicitor assistant about the error and she was going to sent it back for correction. It’s been over 1 week and no reply from buyers solicitor regarding the amended tr1.
Can I print out the one with letter missing from my surname and post it back and instruct to exchange.

Yes, you can sign the TR1 and return it to your solicitor.  After completion, it is the buyer's solicitors job to deal with the application to Land Registry to change the title to the new owner's name.  They can hand amend the original form you signed, assuming that the correct spelling of your name also matches that on the current title.

    Thanks,
what if my solicitor rejects it and wait for the buyers solicitor to email another one.
the buyer solicitor has had 3 goes at getting it right. I have all the paperwork apart from the correct tr1 on my sale. Shall I just sign it and send it off with rest of the paperwork?
