Paying rent up front by cheque estate agent issues.
Hi there, this is my first post on this great forum and it is just to get some advice on an issue. To cut a long story short I am renting with another and I am unemployed and the other is part time so to bypass the checks we had the capital to pay 6 months up front in order to secure the property. Everything proceeded…

If purchase price is listed as £270K -£300 is it useless offering under £270?
We have seen a lovely house we like. I know we should offer what we feel it is worth but obviously we want it for the lowest possible! If it is listed on right move as offers between £270 000 - £300 000 then would we be silly for even trying to offer say £265 000? Should we just offer £270 000 (our max we can afford is…

Property initially on the market at £275k, then dropped to £250k as no interest. Its a probate sale, empty, with more than one beneficiary. In a nice spot, but very dated, and needs new carpets (many of the carpets appear to be 1970's or 1980's from the patterns) and decoration in most rooms. Large flat roof (35 foot long)…

Right to buy Valuation
Hi, I have been given a RTB valuation by my local council, however, I've been told if I don't agree with this valuation, I can have it valued by the district valuer, but if he values it up, ie more than the Council valuation I will be bound by that valuation and not the previous one so basically it's a gamble. I could shoot…

Right to Buy
Hi, I have been offered a RTB from my local council and it states clearly on the offer letter a lease term of 125 years ,however, when I went for a meeting with the housing officer, she said that that was just a standard letter and the actual term of the lease is 125 years from the granting of the 1st lease in the block…

Source of Funds - Purchase
I received a letter from my solicitor today in relation to my house purchase. They are asking for 'source of funds' details. FTB - Are we really the dream buyer?
I'm a FTB and currently going through Conveyancing and heading towards Exchange hopefully. When I first started looking, everyone kept telling me that as a FTB I was the holy grail of buyer, no chain, quick purchase, and as such I should drive a hard bargain and people will basically throw their house at me. Well I have to…

Hi, My wife has recently decided to return to work after taking time out to raise the kids.
