Are building regulations applications always listed on a Council website?
Hi, this is linked to a thread I started yesterday. I can't find any building regulations applications listed on the council website for a house we are looking to buy (which has had a couple of extensions/conversions). Does this mean that no application was submitted? (I can find applications for neighbouring properties).

Buy-to-let mortgages on own home.
My partner and I bought our flat before the crash in 2008. Due to relocation, we are no longer living in it and are looking for a buy-to-let mortgage. Is this a legal requirement as an impartial mortgage advisor told us it wasn't? It's difficult to find any literature on this as most buy-to-lets are on a second mortgage…

Not happy with Rental accomodation
A few weeks ago, I was shown around a beautiful house in Camden, London, an old church conversion as it happens, and was thoroughly impressed with the place. The price was a tad steep at £1,000 for a shared house but I figured for premium property comes with a premium price, and as work were subsidising it I was happy to…

I have been trying since 8am yesterday, when I discovered my boiler had leaked and stopped working (a combi boiler) to get my landlord to fix it. i have had no heating or hot water since then. After yrs of saving we are now in a good position to buy. I have contacted several estate agents and only got 2 replies. The reply I got " Two people…

Who is responsible for replacing an outside leccy box door?
I'm soon to be moving into a new flat with payg electricity. The box is outside and there is no door on it. Just wondering who's responsibility it is to replace it? I've heard varous theories such as the box is the landlords property while the meter itself is the electricity suppliers. Surely having an exposed box is…

Social Homebuy Opportunity
Dear all, Yesterday we finally received an offer from our Housing Association re: our flat under the Social Homebuy Scheme. On the face of it, it looks like we're getting a good deal. Our Flat is a large, one bedroomed, top floor flat within a Victorian Conversion (1 of 4 flats - the other 3 are also HA) in Sydenham, South…

I happened to be looking (purely on curiosity, thats all) at some sale details of a 175.5 sqm industrial unit advertised for 185k and confused over the terminology, it says the property is available as either a leasehold or a freehold basis....does this mean the price they are offering means that the purchaser is taking on…

Freehold and adverse possession
I am considering buying the freehold of the property I live in - I own the lease on one of the flats. The freehold appears to cover some unused land by the side of the property.
