Leasehold interest
Hello everybody. We put an offer for a flat, which is share of freehold and leasehold. Then we've been going back and forth with offers on it, increasing them etc. Finally we've got our last offer accepted and we've received a letter from EA saying "...we confirm the acceptance of your offer by our clients... for the…

Tenant left house - has rent arrears and the place is a mess...
My tenant was given two months notice (as per the Tenancy Agreement) on 4th May. She has left today and I only discovered this because I contacted her yesterday to ask where LAST months rent was. (She has, for a long time, paid rent one month in arrears rather than in advance, but to be honest I was always glad that I at…

Selling House and Clearing Mortgage
Hello all, This might well have been a question that has been asked before, but if you sell your house, do you have to clear the mortgage? We might be moving very soon for job relocation, and we would like to avoid the early repayment fee if it is possible. Thank you!

First and final offer
What do you think, is that a good idea? Basically, we like a house, it is up for 159K and we are willing to pay 150K for it. Rather than playing the game and offering 146, then up-ing to 148 and then offering 150K, we were thinking to offer 150K as our first and final offer. Do you think it is better to 'play the bidding…

Shared Ownership Confusion over selling on open market
I own a shared ownership property - I own 70% and the housing organisation owns the other 30%. I wish to sell the property and have been told by the housing organisation that I can put it on the open market as they failed to find a buyer. What is confusing me is that they say I have two selling options - 1. Sell my share.…

completion question
in terms of completion, is it better to organise mortgage funds to be transferred the day before completion day or is sending them on the completion date sufficient? Are the mortgage funds paid directly to the seller's solicitor or to the buyer's? :)

Moving on last Friday of the month
We are looking at moving into our new house on the last Friday of July, and our estate agent said to avoid the last friday of the month because the banks would be busy and it would be a slow transaction and may not happen on that day.... Is there any truth in this?!!
