Decisions, decisions...
If you were buying a house without a mortgage and there were no RICS surveyors that offered a full survey in the area, would you go for a full survey with a not RICS surveyor or for a 12-16 page homebuyers report from an RICS type chappie? Why is life so complicated???

Should I be angry?
I have had my house on the market for a month and have had 1 viewing which was a week last Saturday. The buyers seemed very interested and the EA followed up the viewing and also said the buyers were very happy and were asking for the home report. They said they would follow up in a week to for further info. A week has…

How do you improve Housenetworks service?
The easy answer is to say for them to offer their service for free. Seriously though I have been very impressed with the amount of positive comments, on here, about their service. And having been in the business (see my signature) for a very long time I would use them or suggest my friends use them which is a pretty strong…

I've recently bought a house (freehold) in an area managed by them and am expected to pay an approximately £20 per month service charge to them. I'm finding it…

MARAS check worries
Hi gang, I'm just about to submit my form to MARAS and am having quite a few nervous jitters. I'm a full time PhD student and my salary is paid from a research grant. There are a few quirks with this arrangement. Namely, 1) I get paid every 3 months and 2) I am not liable for income tax or NI. The form asks for my current…

Almost completed on a house now negotiating price for oil!
We are just about to complete on a house and they have said they want to be paid for the remaining Kerosene which I think is only fair. The problem is they paid 52 pence a litre in early 2009 for 700 litres. Based on what is left (around 1,000 Litres) they want £530 for it. I've only recieved one quote so far but for £530…
