Scotland and "Offers Over" Prices
Does anyone know what percentage "above" estate agents are now looking for when they are advertising a property at "offers over £xxx k". Last year they were talking roughly 20% over the asking price but with the way things are now i'm thinking that it will no longer be as much as this. Advice would be appreciated as I am…

Deferred payments?
Heres a problem I have. I have negotiated a great price on a great new build house that I want to move to (£375K down to £300K) but the deal must complete quickly. I have my own house to sell (worth £230K approx) that mightnt shift quickly in todays climate. I can raise around £250K cash but need the rest from my own house…

Don't you just hate Estate Agents.
I had a couple of viewing's on a house up here in Scotland which I loved. It needed a lot of work on it but that didn't scare me off only the price the vendor was asking for it. Anyway I put in a couple of offers which I actually reduced after adding up exactly how much it would cost to put right. My conveyancers…

Buying a house from yourself
Not a trick question. Is it possible to set up a business to buy a house from yourself: circumstances - needing to sell to raise money for a bigger family home, but realising the situation and type of place we are in now is IDEAL for a holiday rental business. If this is possible - how to do it?

I have recently split with my partner and am now looking to sell the house that we own between us. We have had the house valued at £119,995. Indemnity Insurance Confusion
I full understand ( I hope) how the indemnity insurance on the house I am buying will work for the extension they had put on it to protect me from the evils of the council etc However two sideways questions sprung to mind 1)Is there any danger that I will struggle to get building and contents insurance - and is there any…

Neighbour nightmare!
I bought my house 7 years ago and although the house next door seemed a bit unkempt I decided to go ahead. I love the area and my house. BUT, the "unkempt" house has deteriorated badly, with old scrap metal in the front garden and a trailer parked outside the house on the road, regularly being filled with even more old…
