Building Society retaining £2000
Can anyone help please? Currently in the process of selling but buyers b.s. are retaining £2000 due to the 'damp problem' and for work to remedy it. We have had a second opinion and are told there is no problem. (as we thought). Buyers need full amount of mortgage - can you challenge their surveyor, if so, how? Thanks.

Stupid question about money leftover
I know this is stupid, however.... if my mortgage was (say) 50,000, and my house was being bought for (say) 60,000 and over the last few years I'd paid off about 4000... when the money was paid over to me, am I right in thinking my mortgage provider would get 46,000 and I would receive 14,000?

After reading lots of not good things about S21 notices, I thought I would check through my paperwork and it appears that I haven't been given one of these which is good? Planning application - rights regarding being informed?
My parent's next door neighbour has put in planning permission to change their home into apartments. The council did not inform my parents, who have only found out by accident. They are still within time to write to the planning office (just), but would like extra time to go over the plans and register their concerns.…
