Insomnia
I have always suffered from bouts of insomnia (according to my Mother since I was 3 or 4!) but normally after 2 or 3 weeks I get over it and fall back into normal, well normal for me, sleeping patterns of getting at least 6 hours "proper" sleep. Over the last 3 or 4 months the only time I have had a decent nights sleep is…

Swimming with glasses/prescription goggles
Saw a guy swimming with glasses the other day, he simply had glasses on and a band around the back of his head which fastened to the glasses. Anyone else done this? Also, does anyone know a cheap place for prescription goggles? Or does anyone swim with contacts? Do you wear goggles as well? thanks

PCOS and Clomid
Hi everyone :) I'm writing this on behalf of my best friend, who is currently undergoing the above fertility treatment. I know this isn't anything to do with money saving, and I'm not asking for medical advice. I've seen lots of boards regarding TTC, but thought my post might get lost, so decided to write a new thread. If…

I know my legs aren't fat!!! Help!
Apologies if there's a thread on this but I couldn't see one. I like to wear opaque, black, knee-length socks under smart trousers (like opaque tights fabric). Problem is that this year the pairs I have/bought all seem very tight around my legs and leave painful marks. I know I haven't got fat legs, honest :D I have been…

suffered a black out this evening :o
I've been out drinking with my friends this evening. Started around 9 and had 3 beers and then a couple of rum and cokes (single shots). At around 12pm was outside smoking a couple of cigarettes (I don't smoke much, just a social smoker as it were, these were the first I'd had this year). I suddenly felt a bit light headed…

After all the threads about spotty skin
There have been quite a few threads on here recently about spotty skin, (I know I started one a couple of months ago) I just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that I swapped from using the harsh medicated spot treatments to the simple range (it was on special offer and I thought I would give it a go!) Anyway over…

dry clean only...............

Most stuff from coast says d.c.o. so I wonder whether they put that on as a matter of course and i can ignore it :) Can…

I haven't been to do the dentist in 20 years and I know I need a lot of things doing  I'll be going on NHS, so what is the best way to keep the costs down ... insurance ? Medical plan ? Help with shaving for ten year old DS
Hi, My ten year old DS has grown what can only be described, no matter how much I try to deny it to myself, as a MOUSTACHE! While on the one hand I'm delighted that he's growing up, I'm also gutted that such an obvious outward sign of this change from wee boy to young man has come so early. My question is, has anyone else…

Swine Flu Jab - Yes or No?
I was wondering if you've been told you're eligable for a swine flu jab if you've decided to go ahead and have one or not? I've spoken to some people already who I know that have been told it is recommended they have it, but have decided not to. One person said they were concerned that it's been rolled out so quickly...

Dentist - Very scared!
Hi All, I have booked an appointment with the dentist later and I am petrified, both of what its going to cost me, and the pain! I had an invisalign invisible brace, which came off about 18months ago, maybe 2 years now. The dentist I had that done with was private and used to cost a fortune, anything up to £120 for a…

Have you tinted your eyebrows?
I had this done yesterday for the first time by a beauty therapist. I was too nervous to do them myself in case they ended up looking awful. It took a total of a couple of minutes, and I was out of the salon in five minutes. It cost £7.50. I've seen Dylash in Boots and Superdrug, and I'm sure it would be far cheaper doing…
