What is the greenest paper?
I'm trying to find materials to make invitations for a party we are having in the summer to celebrate our marriage earlier in the year. I wanted initially to make the invitations from seed paper that can be planted but this is looking like it would be far too expensive. I've looked at card blanks made from recycled paper…

frustrated trying to find a 'green' fridge freezer
My apologies but I'm going to vent here as hubby is doing the bathroom and can't listen to me and drill at the same time. I've been going round in circles trying to find a fridge freezer that is of the highest energy efficiency possible, has enough freezer space, fits into the gap it needs to fit into, doesn't have any of…

Has any one ever used a Magno Fuel?
I've seen this product and I'm curious how it works? here's the claim..... 'Magno-Fuel has been tested to give fuel savings of up to 15%. It provides better combustion in the engine, while reducing the amount of carbon dioxide your car emits'. If it works its a revelation!

Fair Trade products 20% off in Co-Op
I've just received a leaflet saying that all fair trade products are reduced by 20% in the Co-Op (Midcounties, but I imagine it's nationwide) from 12 February until 11 March. Time to stock up on all that orange juice, wine, honey etc. - and maybe to try a few new things too.

650 mile move - transport or replace?
Can anyone give me advice? I'm about to move house, and move a long way. Do you think it would be better to freecycle my washing machine, fridge, freezer etc and replace them with new, energy efficient versions, or keep my old white goods and transport them? All items were second hand when I got them, and are 10 - 20 years…

Kermit was right, its not easy being green.
I haven’t ventured in this part of MSE before but I heard an interesting snippet on Radio 5 Live today and thought it was time I visited. Valentines day is approaching and flowers are being sold everywhere. Should we buy locally sourced roses, or roses flown all the way from Kenya, burning gallons of aviation fuel in…

Anyone used a website called dwell.co.uk?
Hi, I've been looking around for a while for some indoor bins that can be used to store recycled stuff until it goes outside. I live in Scotland (rains occasionally) and the recycling tends to get stored all over kitchen, don't have a utility room. Really only wanted for cosmetic reasons + I think it will encourage the…

What do you recycle in the home?
As I was packaging up some eBay items using previosuly used jiffy bags, bubble wrap and cardboard I wondered what everyone else re-uses in their house? Flying a sin
So do we think the old Bishop of London is talking rubbish here? http://www.greencarcongress.com/2006/07/bishop_of_londo.html It is an interesting concept but it seems strange as has God really told him this? Plus, sin seems not really a C of E concept, but it is nice marketing phrase even if you do nick it off…

About to change from weekly to fortnightly collections-any pointers?
Our town is gradually changing from a weekly collection to a fortnightly one. My village changes next month. We have had a green box for years, which I use every week and is usually full. Paper, tin foil, clothes, paired shoes, tins and glass can go in this. My childrens school does a 'rags r us' collection several times a…
