Go with a small new supplier over a bigger established one, for an £8 annual saving?
I am doing many comparisons at the moment for my gas and electric and basically it has come down to Avro Energy, who I have not heard of, and Shell, who I have been with in the past. Shell is estimated to be £8 more expensive than Avro, but are they a safer bet? I can't seem to find a feedback thread on Avro, but I didn't…

British Gas on Priority Register and Cadent switched off gas
Hi Hope you're day is going well! I would appreciate some guidance on dealing with British Gas to help my elderly father in his 80's who lives in his own house. Last week Cadent turned off his gas because they were doing some works outside. They gave him a plug in electric hob and electric heater. After Cadent completed…

Our meter readings over the past 12 months show an average monthly usage of 600 Kwh. This is fairly constant average from January 2020 to sept 2020 when it started…

New unsized boiler
Hi. I’m hoping for some advice. We recently had a gas engineer come round to look at our boiler as it broke down. He gave us a quote to service and fix it. A day or two later it completely died so we asked for a quote to replace it. It was very cold and he was very busy but fitted us in on a weekend. We got two other…

Simplicity asking for payment of arrears by 1st March
When we moved to Simplicity there was an issue with the DD and they didn’t claim the money for a few months even though it was supposedly set up. I didn’t notice at first, but even when we told them it took a while to get it sorted. My husband was out of work we were struggling to manage the bills anyway, so the money for…

Registered with two Gas Suppliers
Can anyone help? Is it possible to be registered on the National Gas Database with two suppliers,? I recently switched from Scottish Power to Avro Energy: Avro say they took over supply on 1/12021: Scottish Power say they were still my supplier on that date. I thought it was impossible: as the transfer process could only…

Sorry to bother you but I'm after a little advice, I'm okay giving it to others but when it's me I kind of freeze and become hesitant. High electricity usage?
Hi, I see a few people have asked about their usage, so was wondering what the board thought of mine. I'm just wondering if it is I-need-to-investigate-something-is-obviously-wrong high, or just plain high? I'm just switching from EDF to British Gas as, according to MSE comparison checker, they have the best fixed rate for…
