Prepayment meters
Hi, not used a forum before but after some advice, I've been on prepayment meters for gas and electricity for 3 years, and have recently noticed my gas statement says I owe £800? How is this possible when I only pay for what I use?

Energy company gave me refund in error, now billing me for it.
After answers to these questions. Am I entitled to challenge a revise bill for usage and billing over 1 year old? Should I ask for a good will gesture for the error in refunds? I left SSE on March 07 2015. I made at least 2 calls requesting a final bill as I expected to pay a debit as we were leaving in spring. I was told…

MSE Consultation response to CMA energy market investigation
The an official MSE thread hidden over on the campaigns board seeking responses to the MSE response to the above. It's been there 5 days and only solicited one response (by a newbie) plus my response today having just uncovered it. I thought perhaps some people here might like to chip in too? :)…

Change Gas and Electricity Supplier?
My twelve months fixed period with Eon ended last month. I am now on the Eon Energy Plan instead of the Eon E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v16. The price of these two plans seem to be very similar. I have checked USwitch.com, which tells me that the following plans will save me money: 1) Gneregy: £179.71 2) Extra Energy: £178.11…

Utility Warehouse upset
When I moved into a property Sept 2014 my landlady had written down my gas and electricity reading which I told the supplier. I then set up a direct debit for £160 per month, on the supplier's advice. I have been paying this amount for the past 9 months. I moved out on 2nd July 2015, and had an actual final meter reading…

Co-op ignoring ombudsman ruling: advice?
Would appreciate some advice here. One of the customers caught up in the billing saga. Had an accurate bill in Jan (old system), a long period without a bill.... Then a new bill where effectively I have been double charged. A large part of the usage had already been paid for under the old system. Went to Ombudsman in…

Electricity usage skyrocketed? Faulty meter?
So I've just got a nasty shock. A letter from npower wanting £1,600! The penultimate proper reading was 31/7/2014. The last proper reading was 31/7/2015. The usage is 10,000 units. Breaking it down, that's about 30 units a day *on average*. This is for a domestic property with one desktop computer on 9-5, one laptop…

I had problems with Swalec a year ago, when they billed me over £20,000 ( i kid you not!) it turns out after an investigation they had been billing us incorrectly for a 5 dial meter when we are on a 6 dial meter. They admitted they were at fault and reset our account, they refunded me £211.87 as well! I continued to pay my…

Electric metres, forced to use Npower.
My mum has 2 meters, one economy 7, and another normal daytime meter. For years she's tried to change electric suppliers and failed. The latest company were Sainsbury's who offered her a cheap deal, only for there to be ' some confusion ' after hearing nothing for several weeks. In fact, she's even been compensated before…

Hi, i'll try to make this brief: switched to Npower feb/march time, gave meter readings and payment of £60.66 set up, paid without problem until June when we got a letter saying our payments would be reduced to £43 a month, great! Paid £43 in July and Aug. now received a letter saying a system error has only set up the…

Left British Gas and now owe over £300!
Hi, I'm a newbie to the forums and I'm hoping someone can give me some advice. I've been using cheap energy club (CEC) for a couple of years for dual fuel deals and recently left British Gas (BG) as my fixed rate deal had ended. I provided quarterly meter readings and was merrily paying a fixed amount each month to BG.…

npower 'system issue'
Npower have had problems setting up payment schemes resulting in some dual fuel accounts only being billed for one fuel resulting in a build up of debt on the account. In my case it has taken them 9 months to notify me. Anyone else had this problem and if so what was the outcome?
