E-On electricity monitor
Has anyone got one of these gadgets? Quite simply, it has a transmitter and receiver. The transmitter clips onto your 'live' lead that runs into the meter and the receiver plugs into your PC, where you can monitor usage and correlate it with costs by downloading the tariffs. I've just tried to set mine up and I can't get…

EDF - Standard tariff for first 14 days?
I have just received my first bills from EDF for electricity and Gas after transferring to them and it shows me on a standard tariff for the first 12-14 days before changing me over to the online saver 6 tariff that I signed up for. Does this sound right and is normal practice?

Does using laptop on battery then charging use less electricity?
I have been presuming that using the battery power of my laptop and, when that runs out, plugging it in to charge while I carry on using it, would use less electricity than keeping it plugged in all the time. Am I right or completely wrong? What is the cheapest way to power a laptop? Also, this laptop has quite a big box…

I am completely new to this. I am 20 years old and I moved out to my first rented house with my girlfriend at the beginning of October. Ebico for prepaid gas & Electricity?
I'm currently gettimg my gas from British Gas (prepaid meter) and my Electricity form Scottish & Southern (also a prepaid meter). I did an online comparison and it looks, on the face of it, that I'd cut my costs almost in half if I switched to Ebico. Like British Gas, Ebico doesn't have a standing charge on prepaid ges or…
