Thermostat?
Hi, Ive been onto my energy supplier N Power today asking why my monthly payments are so high as I only ever use 1 radiator in my whole house. She said that on my thermostat I should be turning it up to a higher heat to get a very warm temp. then turning it right down until it gets too cold again. I have been just putting…

Can anybody please advise? Can EDF do this?
I've just received a letter from EDF Energy saying that we will be expecting a larger bill for this quarter and suggesting we up our direct debits from £70 per month to £430 to repay them. I immediately telephoned them to ask why the bill was so high. They said it was their fault and it was because throughout the time…

"Congratulations. You're on Click Energy 6"
Looking back at my bills from BG, they all seem to include this statement "Congratulations. You're on Click Energy 6" Why are they congratulating me? Is it such an achievement to not be ripped off by their standard price tariff?

Want to switch but have outstanding balance?
I've done a price comparison online and would pay less for electricity if I switched. I have an outstanding balance with my current supplier (Atlantic) of £150. They've told me that I need to pay this off in full for the switch to go through. Energyhelpline have told me it'll go through if I owe £100 or less. Anyone know…

Just want to compare tariffs
Hi, I'm trying to find a site that actually lets you compare utility tariffs as opposed to being told which is best based on usage. I'm with Scottish Power on dual fuel and a few of the comparison sites tell me that eon would give me decent savings. Scottish Power publish their tariffs but eon don't. Can't believe they…

edf version 2- version 6
Hi I am on edf version 2 which the electric tarriff is as same as the standard one. Any way for electric they say i cannot go onto version 6 with just electric alone they say i have to take the gas which will wipe out any saving i make on electric, which i can save £100 on electric but would lose £100 if i had to switch…

We have an economy 7 account on electricity. Dual day and night meter when we moved in. We use less than 2 percent of electricity overnight. Would it be better to get rid of the dual meter and get a single tarrif?

Switching from BG to Npower - new meter required or not??
Like everybody else right now we're looking at where we can save on our outgoings. We recently went on all the comparison sites and they all agreed that we would be better off switching our gas and electric from BG to Npower. Still waiting for it all to go through, but so far no queries have been raised regarding the gas…

Scottish Power driving me mad
About a year ago I got a letter saying my electricity meter would be replaced as it had reached the end of it's useful life (no charge to me) After this was done, I noticed the next few bills were estimated, but just paid them as they were around the usual amount. Got a call from SP asking me to take a reading as they…

EDF and E-on Problems
I was supposed to have switched to EDF in September last year for gas and electricity. The gas has gone over fine, but I then received a bill from E-on for my electric (they were my previous suppliers) After calling both companies, EDF have the wrong metre number, and were supposed to come out to check it. They have made 2…

Private rental electricity price
I am privately renting and get my electricity through an old fashioned coin slot meter that is owned by my landlord. He called round last week to empty it and without telling me has raised the rate on it to 25p per unit. Does anybody know if he is allowed to do this? I am slightly peeved by this as I do not have the option…

I'm in complete shock right now. For the past 12 months our payments have slowly increased and our debit was coming down as you can see. I was hoping this bill would show near enough 0 debit and as such have applied to switch to EON. Having now got this bill which shows 3 times the kWh both night and day since my January…

British Gas Online Billing - "Your Adjustments"
Noticed something on my online bill this month that I've not seen before... "Your Adjustments" which has somewhat decimated my available credit. Before I call them up and seem like an idiot by asking them what it means, I thought I'd check on here. I had built up a fairly large amount of credit over the past few months…
