confused about EDF tariff - what do you think?
I am not too fussed about missing out on the capped rates as the one I checked with Eon was 65% dearer than my current tariff with Scottish Power, however, SP do tend to have a habit of increasing their prices without metioning it - until months later when you get a bill. So I'm trying to figure out if I could get onto a…

I have been infromed by my electicity supplyer (Eon) that I owe them £69, of which i don't understand as I use a prepayment meter and as far as I am aware i only use what I have already paid for. I have phoned them (50min call, glad it was their 0800 number) to be told there is NO way round it and with have to make a…

Age Concern energy services
I received a letter from Age Concern urging older consumers to switch to EON. On checking out their costs through uSwitch.com it turns out they are more expensive than many other providers including British Gas and npower. Surely they shouldn't be allowed to advertise in this way considering many older people may not have…

British Gas demanding money I don't owe!
British Gas recently sent me a letter demanding the return of their money, £277.42, which they (allegedly) sent to me as a cheque. they claim that the cheque has definitely been sent and that is has been cashed. They claim that it was cashed 28.7.07 but cannot tell me WHERE it was cashed because someone didn't fill in that…

Click Energy 5 now...or wait??
I have never really bothered with all this switching stuff, at least not with Gas and Electric...but it seems stupid not to now. I am the very worst case scenario in that I am BG for Gas and Npower for leccy...and I pay by quarterly bills!! So, should I go for BG Click Energy 5 right now and ultimatley save immediately, or…

Is anyone else having trouble with BG application?
I have been trying most of the day to apply for the v5 online tariff with BG, through quidco, but I'm having no success! It gets right to the confirmation stage and says there is a 'system error, please try again'. Is this because they are very busy or has anyone else had this problem? I don't want to call them as I want…

Capping In The Future
Hello, I am one of many to be researching price capping too late. My bad. I’ve noticed Martin’s advice not to take the BG 2011 price cap offer until other companies have announce their own caps over a similar period of time. However, one question: it would appear I can save some money by moving my gas and electricity to BG…

EON capped tariffs still available over phone
Just called EON (Mon Aug 4th 12.30) on the number Martin suggests - 0800 051 1626 - & was told that due to high demand & being so busy last week that people who call today will still have access to their two capped tariffs. I didn't even get put on hold, the call was answered straight away!

Gas & Elec new customer
Hi I'm in rented accomodation at the moment, and the landlord has always paid the gas and electricity costs. It's more of a house sit than anything else. However, from the 1 September, the landlord is changing everything so me and my partner have a proper tenancy and the gas/electricity needs to be transferred into our…

messed up my switch to capped?!
Ok, so I switched to cap when Martin said Looked at Moneysupermarket and clicked on fixed price only. Am currently duel fuel with Atlantic. Was shown four categories including green electric and in some vague recollection of advice to compare separately too calculated, i thought, that the cheapest option would be the green…

Buchanan and Clark. Need urgent advice
I used to live in a property 4-5 years (2004) ago on a sharing basis(sub rented by the original tenants). I was just staying there while searching for a permanent place to live. There was no rental agreement for this as I didn't know how long I would be staying. I stayed there for 6 months before moving to another propery…

Can you please help me with gas/electricity prices
Could someone please help confirm for me. I'm presently with British Gas for my gas (Click Energy 5) and EDF Energy for my electricity (standard rate). I've done a price comparison on energyhelpline and despite all the increases from British Gas recently, they come out on top as being the best price for a dual rate, some…

Hi, I've just got my latest gas bill and it shows a tota of 793 units used (or nearly 9000 kwh) for the 6 months from Feb to end of July. For most of that period the central heating has been off, hot water comes on from 6am to 6:45am and then 5:30pm to 6:30pm. We have a gas hob but oven is electric. For spring/summer I'm a…

Still very confused, might switch back!
Having switched to Eon Energy Saver 4 a few days ago, I'm still trying to see if this is a good deal or not. My instincts are telling me that I should switch back to the non-capped - because on this capped rate (previously had Eon Online Saver 5):- 1. I lose the online discount that I currently have 2. The units are higher…
