Gas bill £70 for 5 weeks, barely 2 hrs heat a day
My gas bill has been £70 inc VAT for 5 weeks use, in which at most my heating is on 2 hours per day and I take one 10 min shower, plus a little washing up, no cooker. I am aware of price rises, but this is ridiculous. It is based on real readings, my meter seems to use 3.5 to 5 units a day. Thermostats are medium to…

British Gas have stolen my wonga
I paid £197.99 for them to come out and fix the 'first fault' that they found on my boiler. I said when I booked the appointment that I didn't think it was fixable - so would I get my money back. Of course madam. Bulls**t. I have now called them 5 times - every time they say the money will be with you in a few days - it…

What do I do if i think I have a faulty Gas meter?
My gas usage for the last year from 11 dec 06 to 30 nov 07 was 216 units or about 7000kwh. I have had a new condensing combi fitted which replaced my old…

Obtaining obsolete boiler parts
Apologies for starting a second thread, but the thrust of this is slightly different to my other one. Grrr. Gas+electric problems. How do we switch from a meter to DD?
Aside from the arguments in our HMO about paying for gas and electric (we're on prepayement meters), we've just lost £20 of credit on the electric in 4 days . I rang British Gas and was told the accounts were still in the previous tenant's names and so they couldn't talk to me about why so much had been taken. Fair…
