DMP and possible redundancy
Hi, I am currently on a debt management plan with CCCS. However, it is looking like there is a chance I maybe made redundant from my job soon. I will probably have to go on housing benefit for a while. I am a bit worried about this. Will CCCS still be able to manage my payment plan for me if I am on housing benefit?

Joint Account
Me and the OH are going to be opening a joint account over next couple of weeks to set up our rent and bills for our new flat together. We plan on paying in enough money to cover the rent and bills and ideally we would want an overdraft of no more than £100 just incase a bill comes out when not expected for some reason…

Dates for a CCJ?
Can anyone help me with how you work out the dates for a CCJ? The date on the front of the papers was 25th May, then it says the date of service is 5 days from then, and then because I filed an acknowledgment I get 28 instead of 14 - silly me though thought for some reason you get 28 days from when you file the…

Fighting a losing battle!!!!!!!!
I am a single mum of two kids and have been running a business for ten years. Things have been good and I managed to buy an ex local authority house and tick by just nicely. With the current climate and for various other factors work has been really sparse and to say I am struggling is an understatement. I have done the…

Thanks to all who gave advice...
Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on my SOA last month. DSs DLA has been sorted out and therefore my carers allowance has been too, so everything is ok. It was a real eyeopener having to cut back so much and I'm grateful to you all because we didn't really get in to extra debt over it and now we will have more money…

Should I open a new account?
I have a £1,200 overdraft with my current account from RBS. My wages get paid into the account and it's the only bank account I use. I'm worried that they will just take back the overdraft at some point and I will be left with nothing. I do have a Halifax basic account but have never used it and don't really want to…

Hello How scary it is to go to take the plunge and start trying to tidy things up!... So I'm part way through filling in the CCCS online form, and I want to put in my list of debts. Home insurance with bad credit
Hi all, we are on a DMP and obviously have bad credit. We have home insurance with More than & have today received the renewal through. It all started 20 years ago and I am sick of being in debt and letting it control my life. I owe £24526 according to my Experian report and that figure just makes me so ashamed…

Abacus/Clear Debt and Kays/Home Shopping Direct - warning
I have just had a call from someone called Clear Debt, apparently on behalf of Kays/Home Shopping Direct (who are one of my creditors currently with the CAB), checking that I was 'happy with how the DMP was going', how long it was due to last, how many creditors I had etc, and the icing on the cake, 'that the CAB had given…

Fri 18th June - What small DFW things have you done today?!
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…
