Fri 18th June - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:D
Gooooooood morning - hooray, I get to start us off today:beer:
(Are you having a lie-in Triangle?!;))
Hope you're all well and looking forward to the weekend, a sunny one too:T I'm not bad - feeling good in the morning then tired for the rest of the day, proper, useless tired!!
So....here's a small list for today:
Have a great day and enjoy the football if watching:beer::beer:

Morning all!
In school but have a free lesson to write lessons for next week in.
I have made it through a week at the school from hell! Hurrah!
My new school for Sept has asked me in for two days in July to induction etc so that's two days less to do here but 2 days less pay - boo! (That's the only reason I'm here!):p
But as I wasn't expecting any work at all 18 days on supply teaching rates is a good chunk to earn, so happy with that and there's a holiday in Turkey for me the day after I finish.:T
Anyway, today's list....- Took packed lunch to work
- Will pick up something nice for OHs tea from the butcher (he's going to the footie so should have a good meal before the booze!)
- Write as many of next week's lessons as I can today whilst its quiet
- Find out about being paid
- Walk dog for free exercise
- Bought 2 DVDs from ebay for the kids in school for the last week (total cost of £2!)
- Post stuff to mum
- Finish shopping list for tomorrow
- Stay in and watch whatever is NOT football on telly (I'm Welsh:p)
- Do any surveys that come

What sort of machine do you have? Just curious. I have 2 (the janome decor excel without power cable - can't afford to replace right now
and a lidl's machine - no embroidery stitches - that I got in my 'sewing machine fixation' in the winter - but it works fine. Lidl's machines are also called Lervia; victoria and silvercrest I believe but they're good
)
Anyhow next job after semi cleaning kitchen just now is to sort out cashback and get some air :j

Oh dear , I have been a nughty girl again. I could not resist. I have ordered a pair of Marc Jacobs shoes, in the sale reduced from £354 to £53 ! I really need a treat after everything that has been going on.

Not much for today :- checked banks - okay for now

- did a survey in the night when i couldnt sleep
- go to work on late shift 1.5 hours enhanced
- meals from stores
- wait for post and sort out appointment
- send off CV to private health company to see if I am of use to them
Have a good day everyone:TWhen it rains look for RainbowsWhen its Dark look for Stars0 - checked banks - okay for now
-
At that saving, I'm not sure I'd be able to resist either picasso

Today is a milestone birthday for me but MSE habits are hard to break. A dear friend has berated me and Popeye for getting a lovely jacket for DS1's wedding next year as a pressie, she says that would have had to be bought anyway
After all this time there isn't much I want or need as a present (no-one is going to buy a conservatory for us, and that's what I want :rotfl:)
DS2 has bought me some wool and DD is taking me shopping today
Outlaws have given us the money for a cross-trainer.
So today I have/will:
Steer DD to TK Max for a bargainoius pressie
do a survey that has appeared in my inbox
get strawberries for tomorrows picnic - I guess DD won't want to buy them for me?
Tidy my bedroom - it's these things that actually make me happy - a clean and tidy bedroom :rotfl:
We're being taken out to dinner tonight so I'll try not to eat anything beforehand in order to have an appetite :money::rotfl:
Washing is on at 40 and will be line dried.
And I shall ignore the ironing
Have a great day everybody :A0 -
Hi everyone
Here's my list:- Packed lunch
- Said no to the pub at lunchtime
No friends at work for me...
- Free cuppa x 2
- Fill bottle of water at work for walk home
- Batch cooking tonight - turkey lasagne for 6 portions
- Bit of voluntary work
- Sort bedroom and laundry
- Take towels and sheets to the launderette (maybe be tomorrow's task) - will do this myself rather than hand it over for a service wash like I usually do...
- Clean the kitchen
Just think - they're Marc Jacobs so you'll still be able to sell them on in a few years (if you want to). Get ebaying to resolve that guilty feeling, girl!
Have a good day everyone!
