What Have You Got That I Haven't?
I've always been debt free. Lived a small, miserable and lonely fun-free life.... .... seen people with "stuff", but not been moved to buy any stuff... I have no lovely stuff :( So. These debts you all have. All these SOA lists.... just giving the totals. But, please humour me: what did you actually buy? what did you spend…

CCCS DMP versus Personal DMP
CCCS have sent me my income & expenditure to forward to my creditors with a pro rata repayment agreement for them to consider. I spoke with a debt collector, DLC, today after they'd been chasing me and advised the agent that I will be sending this to them. We argued that I didn't have a CCCS DMP that I'd only contacted…

Some advice please
My ex-partner received a phone call from a DCA about 5 weeks ago chasing a debt for a shop card from about 2001. We were together at around this time and I am very sure we actually paid the debt back then, but it was so long ago that we may not have. My ex-partner was caught off guard and gave the DCA an on the spot SOA…

IVA or Bankruptcy?
My son has a debt of £12000 on two credit cards which is a small part of a £50,000 debt. He is only making minimum payments on these as the rest of his income is paying other loans so this is making no impact on the card debts. He applied for balance transfers (3) but was refused . He went to CAB for advice and was told an…

How can I get rid of this overdraft?
HiIf you have seen my previous thread, you will know that I have £17k unsecured debt. Nearly all of this is on 0% credit cards (except for £2,700 at 7.6% loan and £2000 overdraft). The overdraft is £250 interest free, but £1,750 at 12.9%. This costs me £15 roughly a month in interest, but I also pay £10 fee for the account…

20% rise in people in debt going to CAB
Seems like the debt bubble is getting bigger. Been on a few news reports today that the Citizens Advice Bureau have seen a 20% rise in people in need of debt advice. We're not even near christmas and the aftermath. Perhaps Martin could put out some posters in the CAB's with this website details on in order for those who…

Rent-a-drive
I discovered today that there are people willing to rent out your driveway to park on whilst at work. Anyone here considered it? Don't suppose it would come under the same tax break as the rent a room scheme would it? There are even agents that put together drive owners and car owners. Bizzare but also make…
