Do creditors ever accept you offer of payment?
Last month I wrote to all my creditors and informed them of my inablility to keep up with the current payments. I used the budget plan and creditors list that the CCCS sent me in my self help pack and sent my creditors copies of these so that they can hopefully see what I am up against. One by one they have all written…

Earning xtra cash
I'm feeling happy and want to share with fellow MSEs (my friends think I'm a loon for my recent turnaround regarding money) Anyway, I advertised a yoga class and got a good response - looks like I can teach 2 classes a week, giving me an extra 35 quid a week for doing something I love and within walking distance of my…

A slight diversion
Re-read "The Millionaire Next Door" recently and noted that one of the traits of such people, or rather couples, was that the main earner (usually the husband but not always), earned reasonably well but, more importantly, lived below their means. (to use the American Football analogy in the book, has a "good offence")…

For anyone who has avoided opening statements in the past ...
A salutary tale. Checking OH's bank account today, I found a £45 charge from the AA for Membership from 28 Feb 06. Which is odd, thinks I, because we've got a car with breakdown cover in the warranty. And we haven't needed the AA since we got it 18 months ago and OH cancelled the AA cover from the Ford we used to have. So…
