    Hi There

A very kind Money Saver helped me out with what to put into a letter to those creditors who Insist on calling you! You can adjust it to your specific requirements as I am on a DMP so the following was specifically for me really but more so for you is the last paragraph. Good Luck :

Just put something like " i am writing to you in connection with my account number xxxxxx.

I am enclosing a cheque/postal order for £1 as a token of my good intentions and to demonstrate that i intend to reslove this matter.

You may be aware that i have contacted Payplan who will be dealing with my debts on my behalf. they will contact you in due course to discuss the situation. I will keep you updated and continue to send you a token payment on a regular basis until such time as Payplan start to make payments to you on my behalf. In the meantime i would be grateful if you could remove my contact phone numbers from your database and correspond with me only by letter. I give an undertaking to respond within 7 working days of receipt of any correspondence from you. i will not discuss this matter on the phone"

Or try this one. Send it by Recorded Delivery. If they phone again, tell them you're taping their calls.
    By Recorded Delivery

    Dear Sir,

    Ref. XXXXX

Despite my letters regarding ANY communication from your company, which stated that I require ALL communications in writing, your telephone calls continue.

This behaviour constitutes harassment; the letters stated quite clearly to you that I require ALL communications in writing for future Court use. Do not telephone me again - remove any telephone numbers you hold for me from your systems.

Your telephone calls are in breach of the Office of Fair Trading guidelines. If you continue with them after the receipt of this letter an official complaint, together with a log recording the times and frequency of the calls will be passed both to that office and to the Trading Standards office. For your information note that ALL telephone calls are taped.

This type of debt collection method is contrary to the ‘Administration of Justice Act 1970’ in that it is intended to cause alarm and distress to the recipient. Your methods will not be tolerated. A formal complaint, containing copies of all correspondence including yours, has now been submitted to the relevant authorities. This will be relevant to questions of your fitness to hold a licence under the Consumer Credit Act, whether or not it results in a prosecution.

Take further note that continued telephone calls after the receipt of a request not to call may constitute a criminal offence under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.

Communicate in writing and ONLY in writing, your telephone calls will NOT be answered.

HOWEVER, CALLS WILL TRIGGER COMPLAINTS TO THE REGULATORY BODIES.

I trust that I have made myself understood on this matter,

    Yours faithfully,

    Hi shariatlanta :j

You need to register your number here :A :A

    http://www.ukdatait.co.uk/cgi-bin/sgAddNumber.cgi

most if not all collectors use software that ring numbers (including mine)

This service stops this!

If you do not want them to call you tell them in a letter DO NOT CALL ME! DO IT VIA POST!
They have to do this its law, or they could loose thier trading licence

As long as you tell them they can not call you! ;);)

    Hope this helps?
