IHT aren'tcha sick of it?
All these worries and probs about IHT! People have to deal with this with the law as it stands - and as it changes. But the best solution to a lot of people's worries about inheritance tax would be not to have them - very simple - abolish it! It could happen. It did happen in Italy. It turned out to be the biggest single…

When do you know when your SA tax form has been accepted?
May be a simple question, but when do you know that the tax office has accepted your figures for the year 2004/5 that I submitted in January? I received a "Statement of Account" the other week - with a slight change on the amount due - does that mean it has been checked and accepted? Also, why is it that for the past three…

can I reclaim tax from online savings accounts?
I'm a 21 year old student and am not currently working. I only recently found that I might be eligible for tax free savings on money I have with a Nationwide e-savings account. Share dividends and income tax
This concerns everyday dividends from quoted companies eg. BT, Barclays, etc. They have always had notional tax credit of 10% attached to them which has meant no further tax to pay for Basic Rate taxpayers. But I am aware that this tax credit relief has recently been withdrawn (thank you again Gordon!) but I'm not sure…
