Car Park charges at work, are they tax deductible?

Options
Until this week car parking at work was free, now it has to be paid for.

Is this tax deductible as are uniform laundering etc.?

What a great eco-friendly employer you have. There is no tax deduction here, but at least you are now able to save money by walking to work, taking a bus or a train.

assumes that it is realistic to walk/take the bus/train.

I doubt it - could HMRC class the free use of the car park previously as a (taxable) benefit in kind if you work in the city centre where most areas are payable parking? (best not to ask the question ;) ).
