Building credit rating, credit card
Hey, I'm trying to build a good credit rating by spending on my cards and paying it off in full. I've got automated direct debits to clear them both in full every month, and i never spend more than my (interest free student) overdraft wouldn't cover. My question is if i pay it off early does it still count as a positive…

We are trying to contact them in order to settle the debt which has been…

soft credit search vs hard credit search
Can anyone tell me the difference between a soft search and a hard search? Many AIP's for mortgages offer soft searches (TSB, Halifax, NatWest) & also for some credit cards (e.g. Barclaycard). I just don't get it tho', what can a potential lender see on a hard search which they cannot see on a soft search? Any thoughts…

Now the 2nd company have now written to them with paperwork for a county court judgement. My question is can a CCJ be issued twice…

Hi, Couple of queries that I am hoping one of you guys can assist with 1) I have a default on my file that is due to elapse in October of this year (6 years after the default date). Once this date arrives will the default disappear from my file and credit agencies can no longer see it? 2) If the default does disappear will…

Question about default after 6 years
I have two defaults that are due to go past the 6 year period of being removed from my history. I have made no payments or acknowledged them they were both sold to Lowell. Basically left over from when I was younger and very silly with money. My question is I know they get removed and come off view but does my rating and…

Not sure what this default means
Hi folks. I've been looking at my Noddle report, and all my payments have been made on time apart from a £14 per month mobile phone contract which defaulted twice back at the start of 2012 (young, stupid, stubborn, I know). Here's how it looks: It is what it is, and it should fall off in the next couple of years. However,…

Credit Score Dropped
Hi, My credit history is patchy, but scores with all three agencies have been climbing steadily since I cleared defaults 2 1/2 years ago and started playing responsibly. Last month I felt confident enough to apply for a contract mobile and got a reasonable deal with 3, but now noddle, creditmatcher and clearscore all show…

Large transaction on AMEX and credit report
Hey, I recently put a large five figure sum through my AMEX charge card (I had used their spending power checker and I was approved for the amount) for the points as there was no fee for doing so over a debit card (i.e I have the money in the bank) However, this has caused my credit scores to tank. My experian has dropped…

Equifax - address confusion affecting credit score
Helol, Has anyone managed to resolve address problems with Equifax? It seems a few people have had these from searching online. The problem is essentially that I live in a flat that doesn't appear on the Royal Mail's address system, but does on the electoral roll. All my bank accounts have the address as 8 Acacia Road -…

CCA nonsense
Sent a CCA to Cap 1. They wrote back to say it was now with Fredrickson. CCA Fredrickson. They write back and say they are just 'data processors' and the CCA has been referred back to Cap 1. Idiots. They keep calling and I keep telling them that all I need is my CCA. It's getting amusing now.

How to Improve now that Creditors all settled with
Hi All, In a short space of time all my creditors shall be settled with, as in next month. And I hope to apply for credit (mortgage) in spring 2018 all being well. In recent history (last 3 years) there have been some defaults listed on my file due to issues at the time so my current rating/report shows an atrociously low…

Default on Credit report
So, applying for a mortgage recently and my mortgage adviser told me to get a credit report done to make sure everything is ok. Haven't really had any loans or credit cards since I was a teenager but they were all paid off and I cut the cards up. There's a marker on there for an old debt of nearly £3.5k that has been…

Credit Report Showing way out of date information!!
Hi I'm applying for a mortgage at the moment, and am having a nightmare, I've cleared 2 credit cards totalling £3000 2 month ago and it isn't showing up on my credit score. Its bringing it down on credit card utilisation. Also I paid off a car finance agreement of £6k which hasn't updated either. I also had 2 pay day loans…

Do I have a CCJ? Help!
Good afternoon everybody, I'm a little confused as to something I saw on my credit report via MSE Credit Club. When I log into credit club, it says "There are no County Court Judgments (CCJs) or bankruptcies on your Experian Credit Report." Fine, this is exactly the same with Noddle and Clearscore. However, once I click…
