I thought card handling fees were banned?
Hi Just booked a two cinema tickets at odeon. Paid with visa debit. Cost £25ish + £1.50 card handling fee. Accepted as I wanted to keep the seats I'd selected, but it crossed my mind weren't these profiteering fees supposed to be banned by now? I thought from 2012? Appreciate any light anyone can shed on this! Thanks

Credit cards and Credit Ratings - a request for help!
Hi there, (it's my first post so please be kind!) My husband and I are saving for our first house, we have paid off a large loan and outstanding credit balance from my husband's side all by the end of last year yet my husband's credit rating is still quite low (low 600s). So I'm not sure what we are doing wrong here :( as…

Creation Credit Cards WARNING
I've been carrying out a check on all my debt and have noticed, what i consider to be, a real problem with the way Creations monthly statement calculations work. This to me presents a real problem but unfortunately no one over at creation wants to hear my complaint. For those of you out there who use BT's offers and still…

Using credit card to get foreign currency?
I have a Tesco credit card (tescobank.com/personal/finance/creditcards/ the top card) and was just wondering if I could use it to get foreign currency and it be treated as a purchase? I would usually withdraw money from my current account, find out which shops have the best exchange rate and go in with a wad of cash and…

Hello, I've just recently signed up to Experian CreditExpert and received my PIN in the post today. My score is 837 ('Fair') and I've been able to see now that I have 1 negative factor: "You have no successfully settled non-mail order accounts." What does this mean in reality? Many thanks

How long should I wait before re-applying for a credit card after rejection?
About a month ago i tried to apply for a credit card balance transfer so I could transfer debt from one cc at 26.9% to 0% to save interest cost however I was rejected. I assume this is because I probably had a high enough limit and balance as all my other credit scores are probably OK (i have checked my file). I always pay…

Transfer Credit Card Debt to Friend
Apologies if this is covered elsewhere. I searched as much as I could! I have an ex girlfriends debt on a card in my name. She currently pays me an amount per month to cover the repayments but I would rather she just had the debt on a card of her own. Do you know any 0% cards that accept a transfer to a different person?…

The credit card company would not cancel PPI
Hi everyone In 2001 I took out a credit card. I presumed PPI would be useful at the time. However I became self employed just after. I tried to cancel it when I realised it was useless to me over the phone but the operator told me I couldn't cancel it because I had 'credit' from the card. Even though I told her about my…

£200 refund onto Tesco CC with zero balance?
Hi all, Just thinking about the quickest way to access money from a credit card that will be £200 in credit when a refund is processed? If I took the money out of a cash point or did a money transfer, for example, I gather I would be charged my 3% cash advance fee and it would go on my credit report as a cash advance of…

Incomplete name on credi card
My son has a new credit card account. The name embossed on his credit card is truncated - it misses the last 2 letters of his surname off. The correspondence from the bank appears to be in the correct name, so I assume that the account name is correct, and this may be an issue that his name is too long for the card. What…
