Large purchase on 0% interest credit card
I will very shortly be making a purchase for several thousand pounds. I have the money saved up for it but I also now have a credit card with 0% interest for 12 months. Would it be best to pay for it on the credit card and then at the end of the 12 month term pay the credit card off rather than simply paying for the…

Card Fraud. Someone raised my Barclaycard limit by £2k and attempted a £1.5k purchase
I received a call from Barclaycard today to alert that they had blocked an out of character £1.5k online transaction made by someone yesterday. Thankfully they refused the transaction, the card is now blocked and I will get a new card etc. However...this cannot only be a case of someone obtaining enough information to make…

Charged wrong amount on credit card, impossible to correct?
A little puzzled/stuck here, was wondering if I could ask the forum for advice. * Was abroad (Poland), went to a club, left and paid my bill using chip and pin on an MBNA issued credit card, got just a terminal receipt. * About 30 minutes later I was putting my receipts away and saw it was 10x more than it should have…

Credit card help
hi all, i used my credit card a couple of times in the last week. The first time the available balance obviously dropped. But I've noticed now that there's a positive balance showing as well as the available balance being lower than my limit on my online banking. Can somebody please explain to me what this means?

Credit card interest that has resulted in a change to credit file
I decided to clear the outstanding balance on my Wife's MBNA credit card. I logged into her on-line account and paid the outstanding balance in full. We assumed, has you do that debt had been cleared and did not log in to account again. Two months later we recieved a letter saying we owed £50. We called MBNA who told us…

The great Amex scam
Apologies if this has been covered before. I have an Amex Cashback card (since February 2012) which charges a £25 annual fee. Yesterday, I came across an ad for an Amex Platinum Cashback credit card with NO annual fee and exactly the same features as my current card. I felt that I was being penalised for my loyalty. I…

Cash-back Credit Cards -- Any Available for My Situation?
Hi everyone This may be a bit of a dumb question, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a credit card that rewards with cash-back (or another worthwhile incentive) for general spending? I'm not a big earner (under £19,000 PA), but use my current credit card a lot (annual spend around £6,000). I ALWAYS pay the balance in…

Tesco credit card - 0% on purchases for 16 months
Just wanted to know what this 0% 'mularky' is. Does it mean that for 16 months anything I buy with this card does not gain interest on it for 16 months only after 16 months I start to accumulate interest on the credit card? I'm wanting to make a big purchase but get my second instalment of student loans in Jan 2013 so just…

Barclaycard.. over-zealous fraud protection.
Sigh.. it's happened again. I took advantage of the recent Gamestation PS3 bundle preorder misprice (was £119.99 instead of £199.99). Was waiting all week, along with other people, to see if they'd honour it, and on thursday morning, yay they did! However, Barclaycard's stupid fraud detection kicked in and rejected the…

Close paid cards or not?!
I know this has been asked a few times and I searched back but it seems there is a lot of conflicting advice.
