Which credit card?

in Credit cards
HI there,
I am looking for some advice. I have never had a credit card before and was thinking about getting one for 2 reasons. I have a couple of store cards which I would like to pay off and I have a £300 overdraft which I would like to pay off. The interest on the cards is high and the monthly fee for the overdraft is stupid. Is getting a credit card the vest way to go? And if so any advice on which one.
Thanks

Was hoping someone who knows a bit more on this than me might have had some advice. Any advice.... Please!0

You'd need a card that allows money transfers for the overdraft, although you may be able to do BT for the store cards.
But if you haven't had a card before, you may struggle to get a decent deal.
What's your income, current debts and credit history like?0 -

Hi there. I am a housewife. I get £1500 from my husband a month. The only debt I have is the overdraft and a Next storecard with £600 on it.0

You'll need to find somewhere that will allow that as income. Some may class you unemployed, but you'll need to check around.
But being in your overdraft will make you a poorer credit risk, meaning you may not get any good deals.
Alternatively, your husband may stand a better chance of getting a card and could adjust the £1500 accordingly to pay it off. Unless this debt would be news to him?0 -
I'm sure he wouldnt mind but I would rather clear it myself!
Thanks for the advice. I will apply and give it a try0 -
If I got a money transfer card and put 1k in my current account this would Clear my overdraft and I could pay off my next directory card?? 4% fee, is this about right?0
