Barclaycard Credit Card

Hi all,

Signed up for a CC on Wed 14th, transferred a balance of £800 from another CC. Got an instant decision which was great so now i'm just awaiting my card out so I can activate it and transfer 3 other CC's to that balance, balance should be about £2300 once it all goes through.

I'm impatient and just want everything set up so signed on my mybarclaycard yesterday and set up a direct debit for £150 a month. Signed back on today and it says first payment date isn't untill 7th January 2013. Was a bit shocked to see i'm not expected to pay anything untill then!

Will the direct debit amount just come out on that date? Or will it come out a bit earlier so its cleared by then. I worry that i'll miss it and that will cancel my promotional rates.

Also... will my 23 months interest free start from the January? or from November when I set up the account??

The 23 months will start from when your account was set up.

Your statement will tell you the earliest your DD will be collected, but expect it to be a few days before the due date.

Thanks, I don't have a statement yet but have a payment due date on my account. Will jsut have to wait till I get all paperwork etc through.

Like I said i'm impatient. The payments i'm making at the moment are crippling me so to be able to reduce them to £150 a month is perfect. Thanks for your help.

Is anyone else having trouble getting onto the Barclaycard website today?

Hi Shezam,

You will not be billed for your account until December which means you wont have to make a payment until January, you should if you have given your mobile number receive a SMS message to explain your direct debit has been set up correctly, aslong as the funds are available in your account on the payment due date the direct debit will collect fine, if you need any more help regarding barclaycard feel free to message me.

Thank you Adam! Yes I received that text message so first payment to leave in January. Still awaiting the balance transfer to go through though & hopefully my card will be here in the next few days.
