Is there a standard practice for this? Background: OK, so I have been informed by the tenants in the flat I rent out to them…

credit card credit limits and fines
I have been using a Mastercard for years and never had problems with it. If I make the purchase and I don't have enough credit, the payment simply does not go through. However with my Hsbc Visa and Tesco cards is a different story, I buy quite a bit of audiobooks and digital downloads and if I buy with the above mentioned…

I don't understand my credit card :(
I'm a bit of a novice at this, I got a credit card (my first, I'm 23) with the aim of improving my credit score for a couple of years down the line when I want to get a mortgage. Unfortunately I don't really understand how the billing system works. I'm doing this with paperless bills as well which makes it less easy for me…

Just to get this right. I apply for a card, it gets accepted and I have a 2,000 limit. I ask Virgin to do a balance transfer, they transfer 2,000 to my current account. For 18 months I pay the minimum repayment and on the 19th repayment I clear the balance. In interest I pay the 4% fee, i.e. £80. Am I right?
