French "Section 75"?

Is there a French equivalent of the UK's Section 75 credit card protection laws? I ordered an item from a UK company using a French credit card for delivery in France, but after taking my payment the company went bust. My bank, BNP Paribas, hasn't been helpfull and I can't find any mention in any French card's Ts&Cs relating to bankruptcy.

You need to look in the French equivalent of the Consumer Credit Act (if such a thing exists) as that's where sect 75 originates in the UK.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If you speak French well it would be best to then post on a French consumer board, if it's like UK law then your dealing is solely with the card issuer now and not the company. Therefore it doesn't matter where it came from, more of what laws govern the card issuer.0
