I am also trying to save for a deposit with my girlfriend for a house. I decided to buy the car and insurance on a credit card that offers 0% intrest free, so i got the tesco…

Paying SAGA Platinum credit card by direct debit
A heads up if you pay in full your SAGA Platinum Credit Card by direct debit. If you don't use your card for a year, then next time you do, you will be sent a bill and assume the balance has been paid in full. The next bill will show the balance paid off, then 'payment reversal' and a £10 late payment fee and interest…

Unenforceable credit card debt- advice needed please
We paid £395 to a claims management company 3 years ago, who confirmed, having taken legal counsel, that a £12,000 credit card agreement was 'unenforceable' and we were advised to stop making payments. We have all this evidence. We followed this advice. The file was passed to a law firm locally, and we entered into a no…

Previous tennants mail
Hi all, After recently moving in to rented accommodation i had received several letters for the previous tenant, now i know i should have wrote "return to sender" however in my admittedly lazy attitude as each one arrived i simply threw it in the bin. I have now had the previous tenant round complaining i haven't held…

Dormant Credit Card
Hi all I had a plain old Natwest credit card (my first ever one!) from Jan 2010 with a credit limit of £500. When I booked a cruise I decided, after saving, that I'd like to pay it through my credit card for extra protection and pay it off immediately. Being over £2k for the trip, I obviously needed a higher limit to pay…

Tesco Credit Card Question
Hi All, Looking into this new Tesco Credit Card Offer. It has 15 months 0% Purchase offer. But really I wasn’t bothered about that offer. Was more thinking instead of going for a cashback offer, that this might well be a better option. I do shop at Tesco regularly and 99% of the time fill up my car every week here (£60 per…

Does an overspend risk credit rating
Hi There Quick question for anyone that can help me please, recently came back from a trip to France where i overspent on credit card, this was due to the interest being added to the total which took it over the limit. I quickly made a payment to cover it but does this damage my credit rating? Thanks in advance

Beware Santander-punitive interest on credit repayment
Warning to anyone who wants to do the right thing and pay off a santander credit card; no good deed goes unpunished. The unscrupulous corporate minds at Santander will make you pay through the nose for your honest bid to get out of debt-that's if they let you pay it off at all. Case in point-wanted to pay off my partner's…

Pending Authorisations - what do they mean?
I spent a while before my holiday in France (20-27 July) trying to find a car hire place which would take a Debit Card rather than a Credit Card to pay for the hire of a car. Anyway, I could not seem to find one, so I applied for a Credit Card at Santander, who I also originally got my debit Card from. So, a couple of days…
