Credit Card Cheques
I have recently been accepted for an AOL card, operated by MBNA. The promotional offer is 0% on balance transfers and credit card cheques for 9 months. And the BT and Cheques can be used at any time during the 9 months; not just in the first month. Here's my question: Are the credit card cheques a round about way of…

Online banking is ok, but...
I want to know why, when paying a credit card bill, nowadays, my bank doesn't show the payment made into the account on the day that I paid it. I always pay it 4 days prior to the date it is to be in by, allowing for the transfer as explained on the back of the bill. I contacted the bank and they say it is the norm, but I…

Using Egg as a mule
In my quest to pay off the remainder of my mortgage interest free - I still fall short with my credit limit. Egg (Green) only gave me £7500 - I actually need around 10K, so I'm gonna apply for the new HSBC deal. I bank with First Direct so am hopeful of a decent limit. As I understand it, I can BT the Egg into credit. If I…

I immediately contacted the credit card company (Goldfish) and completed the relevant disputed transaction forms. Initially they credited the amount back to our account, but since then we recieved another…

Need to check - Egg BT % amount
Just a quickie......was advised a while ago that it had been known for people to BT 95 % of their credit limit...then do a second transfer of 95% of what was left, which in effect, pretty much takes you near to your overall limit. Is this still do-able? Has anyone done this recently? It does say on the BT page that you can…
