An Open E-mail To Liverpool Victoria
I sent the following e-mail to Liverpool Victoria today "I am upset to hear you are changing the way you charge interest on cash withdrawals from March. This means even if you pay off in full you will pay interest. I thought I should warn you if you do this i will be wholeheartedly dumping my recommendation for you as best…

Cancelling a credit card account...
Dear all, I have just phoned up Capital One and (after they've given me a lot of grief) managed to cancell an account with them. I did explain that the credit limit I had with them ( £200) was of no use to me. However, they were still nasty and said although they would cancell the account I was to send them the card back…

MBNA Closed, no questions asked...
Rang up yesterday to 'close' my MBNA card with 12K limit on it, expecting to be passed to 'customer retention,' with a view to getting a cheap/free period of credit to stick in my savings account. I've been a customer with them for over 8 years - admittedly most of them in debt to them; only once used them to get 0%. Said…

Credit Card Balance vs Loan
I am considering taking out a loan to replace my credit card balance @ approx £6,000. It apears the loan over 3 to 4 years would be slightly cheaper to repay, compared with a credit card balance that seems to be never dwindling.... your thoughts please..... Jon :)

Direct debits on visa
1899 will only register my numbers if I set up a direct debit on my visa/mastercard. Surely that is not a good idea. I did have a dd set up like that once and I got ripped off for a fair amount of £. The visa co said I couldn`t cancel the dd and neither could visa. Any suggestions?

Credit Card Problems (Capital One)
I'm sorry that all figures are approximate, but here is the situation: My mother got into a mess with her Capital One (standard) card around 18 months ago. The credit limit is somewhere around 1500 pounds. It was the common story of ending up slightly over the limit only for the charges to spiral out of control. She went…
