Summary Boxes and allocation of payments
A new website has been launched to explain Summary Boxes at http://www.summarybox.info/ Do you find them useful? Are they easy to find? A key point they tell you is what order the allocation of your payments go towards. The best cards are paid off with the items that have highest rates of interest first.

Credit Score Query
Greetings all Long time lurker, first time poster just wanted your collective advise on an issue that has arisen for me over the past few days. I’ve a balance on my credit card that I now wish to move onto a 0% card but the past few applications I’ve made have been rejected, the first one was fair enough then second was…

Stoozing - even sweeter?
Most people on here know the score, stick a load of cash from 0% CCs into a savings account and keep the interest as profit. Very nice thank you :) But I was thinking the other day that stoozing is a little bit nicer than I first imagined. If I was to invest my own £10000 in a savings account at 5% in year 0, after a year,…

***LATEST***Is the MBNA party over?
I am currently in the middle of a telephone call requested urgently by MBNA. I think it would be right to say that I am one of the UK's more prolific credit card "stoozers", although MBNA said I was not unusual and even that they were offended when I suggested that they might have a name like that for customers like me!…

Texaco/Tesco cards
Does anyone have either of these cards and what kind of initial credit are they granting ? The 3.9 % and 4.8% 'for life of balance' respectively look attractive but i suspect they're setting low opening limits.

Abbey Credit Card - watch it!
I don't know if this particular moan has been covered on another thread but -- anybody BTing on an Abbey card needs to keep an eye on it when it's nearing the end of its 0% promotion period. I waited until the statement came that said "estimated interest £38" then I paid it off in full [via a BT to MorganStanley],…

Nationwide card collection problems
Just to let people know, Nationwide credit card services have had problems in the last few days taking direct debit payments from customers. My account was not debited by them as expected yesterday so I phoned them this morning. I was told [perhaps it is just general advice, anyway?] that 1) they would collect as soon as…

ABBEY CREDIT CARD
This is trivial but annoying, or maybe I only have myself to blame? I was contacted sometime ago by Abbey National offering me a 6 months interest free on balance transfers, I already have a visa one and always pay it off every month. I had made a purchase for £300 so I thought I would take advantage of the 6 months…

Aaargh EGG!!
I've been doing pretty well on transfering all my debt to 0% cards and I've been making sure I cancel all the old ones as I go along. I paid off and cancelled my Egg card back in June, having got totally p'd off with the green/blue fiasco. Anyway, I went to Calais for the day in September, and called my car insurers who…

Beware Egg Card Repayment Insurance
Last week I received a letter from Egg that they had added Card Repayment Insurance onto my account. (I had not requested this). I immediately phoned them and was told that an error had obviously occurred and that they would cancel this immediately. I followed this phone call up with an email on the contact us section of…

My dads credit cards
My dad is getting stitched up like a kipper on his credit cards and I know he's not managing! Luckily he is taking my advice, and we are getting some of it sorted soon. He owes about £3500 and his payments each month are about 85 quid, about 45 of that is interest! I tried getting him an Egg card but it declined. So I got…
