Barclaycard upping my rate by 1%
Just looked at my statement online and seen that there is a customer message saying very matter-of-factly that my interest is going up from 11.9% to 12.9%. I have a 6k limit but can't remember the last time I used more than £200 of it. I pay it off every month well in advance of the due date so Barclaycard haven't had a…

Household income when spouse does not work
I have decided to pause my super tarting activities for a couple of months until one of my cards 0% deal ends. However, my wife is considering joining the club by applying herself (gulp!). Trouble is she is a non-earning, hard working housewife/mum. Are there any companies out there which take into account household income…

0% deals - does anyone know why they exist?
Can credit card companies really make enough money from the people who don't leave and afford to give away the cost of funding all the 0% balances for those people who do? If they're just using their existing customers to fund it, doesn't that mean that people taking multiple 0% deals are just taking it from the people too…

BTs that earn points/miles/cashback-are there any?
Simple enough question - trawling through a few websites most of the major players seem not to offer points but I thought I'd ask if anyone knew if there were any out there?

Bouncing debt between Credit cards
Just a thought. I've had an idea for some time relating to bouncing credit card balances between 2 normal rate ( not 0% ) cards but never had the bottle to do it. Lets say for example i have 3k on one card. If i transfer this to another card at the start of the other cards monthly cycle. That card then statements the next…

Changing cc billing address
Hi everybody, I've just changed the billing address of my HSBC VISA card to my work address to enable me to get stuff sent to work when the retailer insists on sending goods only to the registered address of the card. The staff at the call centre insist that this change should take place instantly. However, when I log into…

credit cards - transfer troubles
Hi, I've always paid my 2 credit cards off in full each month by direct debit. With extra outlay at the moment (moving house!) I wanted to take advantage of a Sainsburys 0% bt. Sainsburys end - no problem. Opposite end - not so easy! First time round my direct debit came out even though I'd transferred the balance in…

smallest introductary minimum payments??
Ok, this is my first post on this forum, so here goes. I currently have 6k credit card debits which i'm jumping from one 0% interest rate to another every 6 months & paying off approx £300 per month in a bid to clear my debts. However, due to my penchant for expensive presents ( a new motorbike bought in april ), i also…

Cancelling credit cards after transfer
Is it good, bad or doesn't make a difference if you are a credit card tart and cancel each credit card as you transfer the balance from it ? I am concerned it may affect my credit rating if i close them. I would prefer to close them as so not to have multiple credit cards with no balance on them.

BT from one persons cc to another?
Is it allowed by cc companies to balance transfer from one persons card to another persons card to take advantage of a 0% offer? The people in question are not related in anyway, merely friends. Thanks people.

Safe online cards?
I had a bad experience with being ripped off on a card used on the net so I am really wary of using any credit card online. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the best and safest card to use online? Cheers

Cahoot Webcard?
Does anyone use one of these for buying on the net? Apparantly it is really secure, as it generates a new number for every transaction online, therefore reducing the chance of fraud. I had a bad experience with being ripped off on a card used on the net so I am really wary of using any credit card online.

BTing Guidelines...?
Reading through the threads on credit cards, a lot of the same kinds of quiries seem to crop up quite often. I think a useful addition to Martin's main article on how to gain free cash, would be some guidelines on the best way to process and manage them. Some points that spring to mind are: - By how much it is 'safe' to go…
