Barclaycard upping my rate by 1%

Just looked at my statement online and seen that there is a customer message saying very matter-of-factly that my interest is going up from 11.9% to 12.9%. I have a 6k limit but can't remember the last time I used more than £200 of it. I pay it off every month well in advance of the due date so Barclaycard haven't had a penny out of me in years.
At this moment I just wanted to ascertain from other Barclaycard holders whether this increase is for all or whether it is specific to me. The only reason I've not closed my Barclaycard yet to be honest is because there is some cashback due to me at the end of the year that I will lose if I close my account now.
(By the way, they said that after 3 months of closing the account I would be regarded as a new customer with all the benefits that that may bring)
Anyone else had this 1% increase slipped onto their account? (it says it applies from mid-Septemeber I believe)
Check those statements people....

funkmaster,
The're all raising rates now, it would seem. See the following thread:

To which I can now add Virgin (got a letter about it yesterday) too, who are a brand of MBNA.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Thanks for that. Will give them a bell later this evening and see if I can haggle. Unlikely I suppose if everyone's is going up, but perhaps they might offer something else.0

I received a letter from vigin saying my rate was increasing to 17.9%.
I called & said it was too high & i had other cards much lower & threaten to close.
They kept me at 15.9% straight away.

Hi
I looked at my online barclaycard statement and they had sneaked it on the screen saying my purchase APR was 18.9% i e-mailed them to advise my card would happily be never used again as ive finished all my BT`S at 6.9% and would not be remotley tempted to use it at 18.9 as i have a BOS card at 0 % for 12 months , they took it down to 15.9 within 6 hours.....why is it like this people
