Is there such a thing as a "card statement"?
I recently changed banks and therefore changed debit cards. I tried to withdraw some money from an online bookies, and was informed that I needed to provide them with a photo of my card as a security verification (I can black out 8 of the numbers for my own peace of mind. I sent them a photo of the card that I topped up my…

Account with multiple pots for budgetting
For a while I've had two accounts. One where my pay is lodged and anther where all my regular outgoings come from. For various (good) reasons, I'm closing one and down to one now, but I'm relaly going to miss one thing. Every month, at the start of the month, I estimated my upcoming outgoings and transferred the money over…

arrangment to pay vs default
My partner is in a arrangement to pay for her £4k overdraft she is struggling only paying £20 a month she. She's wondering if she lets them issue a default rather than having an AP marker for 20 years. whether that will effectively wipe off the debt after six years and what the bank could do e.g. ccj or anything? Which bank for a basic current account?
This is not a switch, it will be a fresh account. I need a basic account that will provide paper statements, a contactless card and no need for two direct debits up front (there may be direct debits down the line). Is there such a thing?

Monzo?
I'm on the waiting-list for this but keen to here people's thoughts on whether it's safe and/or secure? Auto-budget features and no charges abroad look good, but not having branches etc - is it risky? Are other people trying new banks or have had good experiences of other ones? p.s. I'm a sucker for things shiny and…

Who provides the least involved switches?
I have a number of accounts I'm looking to close, switching is an easier solution than writing a letter/visiting branch to formally close. I have done switches before, some require several calls, etc. First Direct was the worst, numerous calls and letters. Which banks provide simplest of switches, preferably all handled…

Exercising POA?
I've posted this in the family & relationships section as well, but maybe it's better suited to this board? Unfortunately, my elderly mum is currently seriously ill in hospital, and recovery seems unlikely. We sorted out POA (medical & finances) a few years ago, when she made her will. The POA was also registered with the…

Which Current Accounts allow weekly DDs
Hello, In the process of re-arranging my direct debits - bit late I know but I intend on closing a few accounts. Extra multiple accounts- empty out or close?
I have a number of accounts from the easy high interest heydays which are really no longer worth the trouble following repeated interest cuts and in some cases additional requirements like direct debits. A good example would be my 3 Bank of Scotland accounts. In some cases it will no longer be possible to have multiple…

Graffiti in Bank
Some context to this issue but some months ago a customer within a Halifax branch spotted some racist graffiti in a bank and made a big deal of it, demanding compensation etc, I later found out this graffiti had anti Semitic connotations. Some months later in the same branch I spotted some anti Semitic graffiti so I had a…
