Car Allowance versus Pay Rise
I have been given a car allowance of 4k in lieu of salary rise by my employer. I won't be buying a car, so this will be purely "salary rise". It will not take me into 40% tax bracket, and I understand will be lumped with my salary and I will pay PAYE on it. What are the disadvantages of this form of "pay increase"?
