I couldn't find this topic anywhere so I created a new thread:
This is basically an opportunity to spread positive reinforcement and messages of congratulations to those that have paid off their credit cards, over drafts, loans, HP agreements, mortgages anything which has become a pain in the backside over the last few years.
(If another thread exists for this purpose please feel free to delete this one - after telling me where it is
)
So I'll kick this off. I just paid off my credit card of £2,500 and I feel great! (like Tony the Tiger Grrrrrreat)
Now i'm putting that card safely on the shelf and focusing on my 2 overdrafts of £1,500 and £1,000!
Then my Personal Loan of £6,500 and another loan of £3,100.
Go Go Gadget Money Saver!

cut the damn thing up and promise yourself never to get another one !!0 -
I've stopped lurking for this one! I've been reading along for ages but not quite ready to post my own story on here but we've made some big changes and this month we have paid off my New Look store card (£150) and an overdraft on an old current account (£85)
Not massive amounts but they're ticks off the list and we've now set up our own self managed DMP and made those first payments this month also!
Onwards and upwards!
(I cut the card btw and closed the account)

The reason I managed to pay off my card so quick is because i really tightened the belt buckle and I used all disposable income to plug the gap. All my savings have gone to clearing my debt so if the proverbial hits the fan im up poop creek without a paddle in a manner of speaking.
I don't think it would be prudent for me to cut it up and cancel the account until I have paid off one of the other overdrafts so I have an "ermahgerd" fund

What a great thread! I would like to join if possible although I think my contributions will be few and far between given the balances!
I have however, just made the final payment on my DP storecard, so that's 1 down already. 3 cards and 1 loan to go...
Just started a claim for mis sold PPI so if that comes off I may be contributing sooner than I first anticipated *watch this space*
Can't wait for my DFD when I can stop juggling the finances and start to boost my savings accounts!
