Do Constantly Moving Advertisements Here And Other Web Sites Irritate You?

Hello. I don't know about you but I find the constantly moving advertisements on this and other Web Sites very irritating. :eek:

I find it hard to concentrate on what I am reading with continually changing moving Advertisements scurrying and flashing by.

O.K....I appreciate that this and other Sites rely on Advertising to survive.....but do the advertisements have to be moving and changing all of the time?

This is a growing phenomenon which I for one would want to put a stop to.

    I have been a member of this site for a good few Years, but cannot say I have EVER experienced flashing\moving or appearing advertisements on the site.

    I suspect your computer needs a cleaning, maybe a pop up killer, a quick sweep with superantispyware or CCleaner is what is needed.

    It certainly would not be the norm for MSE to have pop ups or advertising gimmicks dancing around the screen, particularly with their stance on the subject.

    So you are not seeing at all the constantly moving advertisement on the home page for 'Phones/Insurance/Holidays and the like?

    And other moving advertisements lower down the page?

    I do use CC Cleaner every day, and Advanced System Care and Malawarebytes.

    Still, perhaps I am doing something wrong and can be put right by your good self and others.:)

    No I can safely assert I am not seeing such advertisements on here. Have you tried Spybot? It might help you, it is most certainly your computer that has something hidden in there.

    Well, I can see them just under the Money Saving Expert Logo on the home screen. So what do you see then? just a fixed advertisement or something?

    I am still seeing stuff even though I have downloaded Ad-Block as kindly suggested.

    I think OP is talking about the scrolling banners at the top and bottom of the home page.
    They aren't ads they are part of the page and links to other parts of the site so won't get blocked by ad blockers.

    I am not seeing the scrolling banner across the top of the page that you mention but if it is anything like the one lower down, it is an integral part of the page layout and not an advert as this site is ad free.

    I do know what you mean about other sites though, not so much the movement but its the extra time it takes the page to load and the interference it causes when trying to access a link on the page.
    I notice it most on my online email accounts wher I have to wait until the ad has fully loaded until I can open my new mail.

    If you mean the drop-down menus just below the Money Saving Expert banner at the top of the page either:

    1. Don't point at them or
    2. If you use Firefox as your browser install the No Script add-on.

    If you are seeing other annoyances I would suggest your computer has an infection in which case ask for help on the Techie forum.

    Nothing moving here on Firefox or Internet Explorer. This site doesn't do ads except for itself. I agree it looks like an infection to me.
