[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif What's this about?[/title]
Two weeks ago, we included an offer in the weekly email for 50,000 £1 Cineworld cinema tickets, via the KGBDeals website, which went like hot cakes.

While most people have received their tickets a few people haven't - apparently there have been teething problems, so we've been back on to KGB to ensure it's delivered.

However do note the deal is now closed so this ONLY applies to those who ordered it a couple of weeks ago (for future deals like this ensure you're getting the free weekly email)

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif How to get your code[/title]
The deal involved you being sent a code which you then use to book a £1 ticket.

Unfortunately, one batch of codes KGB sent out on 4 May was incorrect. However, most people were then emailed the correct code on 5 May (16 digits, starting "KGB....."), meaning they were able to get the £1 ticket.

If you are still waiting for the right code to come through, first check your spam and junk folders in your email, as many report that it went there. If it isn't there, you need to email kgbdeals@filmology.co.uk including your postcode and the e-mail address that you used to register.

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif What happened?[/title]

With the incorrect code, it was a simple error, which can happen from time to time with deals like this, and was just unfortunate. MSE always fully checks out deals before including them in the weekly email, and KGBDeals is part of a big company that also owns 118118.

When we followed up to see what had happened, it helped out and also gave us this statement.

The original details of the deal stated that codes would be delivered by May 5th. Codes were issued by our partner in this deal, Filmology, on behalf of Cineworld.

On 4th May all participants were e-mailed a code in error, this was rectified on 5th May when each participant was e-mailed their correct code. The correct code is 16 digits long and begins “KGB...”. Any other code will not work.

If you have not received this second code should first check your SPAM or TRASH folders. If the e-mail is still not present - it may have bounced for some reason, perhaps because of an error in the email address - then you should e-mail kgbdeals@filmology.co.uk to have a copy of your code re-sent to you. When e-mailing kgbdeals@filmology.co.uk it would be helpful if you could include your postcode and the e-mail address that you used to register.

kgbdeals takes its commitment to customer satisfaction very seriously, and the vast majority of vouchers have been delivered successfully. However, where there have been problems, we’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and assure customers that we are working hard with our partners in this deal to remedy each and every issue raised.

  • I got the correct cineworld code sent on 5th May. I used it to visit the cinema on 6th with my son who was off for polling day. I couldn't afforded to visit without the vouchers. So thank you for showing me the deal.

    I got my codes but haven't attempted to used them yet - waiting for half term.

    However, I was just wondering, as there seems to be an awful lot of people saying that their credit cards they used for this deal have been subject to fraudulent transaction,including someone I recommended the deal to, if you, MSE, could give me any comfort that this is purely coincidental and KGB website was fully checked out and is security secure and safe to use.

    I'm really sorry to doubt because this great deal worked for me but there just seems to many people with credit card issues for comfort.

    @Gazza: thanks for flagging that up - will keep an eye on the statement even more carefully now.

  • I didn't get any codes and I purchased two :( One of my mum's email and one on mine.

    Have emailed them now so will wait for a reply.
  • I've paid the £1 but not received the ticket ... should I have done by now? Was taken from my account 29th April ....
  • I signed up immediately after I saw it on the MSE newsletter

  • I managed to buy 2 tickets (with different email addresses etc.) and have got a code for one of them. Although both went through and the web page stated that I will received an email shortly later that day I had an email to say one of the offers had not gone through, it told me to try again. By this time however they had all sold out. I feel peeved and totally conned that only one of my deals worked, I now can't really afford to go so its wasted £1 of mine. Is there anything I can do??

    I tried to get tickets when there were loads left, but every time I pais i got an email saying my card had declined, I tried with my debit card and two different credit cards about 6 times but they all failed and then the tickets run out. It was a reall waste of time and a real wind up! btw I am NOT over drawn on any of the cards I tried!
  • I have had both of the problems stated. Firstly I kept on having my applications rejected. Then I found that £1 had gone through just before somebody made fraudulant transactions on my card. I really think this needs to be looked into.
    I will of course be e-mailing kgb.
