Parking Eye - Nasty tricks
If you get a Parking Charge Notice from Parking Eye heres a nasty trick to watch out for.
I had one issued early Feb telling me to pay the "reduced" rate of £50 within 14 days otherwise it would be the full rate of £80
Stupidly I phoned them, mainly to establish where the car park was. I asked if I would get to see the photographic evidence before the 14 days was up and I was assured that I would.
Well 14 days passed and lo and behold. no photographic evidence
Then, came a letter with the photos dated 11 days after the first reminding me that I had 4 days left to pay the £50 rate
Only this letter arrived in my letterbox 2 days beyond that deadline meaning I was too late anyway
Thier first letter took 4 days to get to me after it was dated
The second letter took a week
I very rarely get 1st class mail coming later than one day and second class 2 days to get to me so delaying tactics must be their game.
I think that they must sit on the letters a few days between dating and sending them in order to create a sense of urgency
IWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasL ookinBackAtHer.....

If you get a parking note from anyone other than the police or the council.
Do not pay, Do not pay, Do not pay, These 'fines' are not fines, they are invoices and as such are unenforceable.
Ignore them at all costs and never acknowledge them.
The baords are littered with this advice.
You can hurt me all you like and I will find the strength to forgive you.
But hurt 'mine' and I will not be responsible for my actions.

I was responding to the post by Bonthrone BTS who is a newbie and not the originator of the thread. They don't specifically say that it was Parking Eye in their case.

I've now had 3 letters from Parking Eye to tell me I had to pay £50, and it would go up to £80 then £110, but I have got a letter from CCS Collects for £140, doesn't make sense.
I take it I just ignore them like usual, how long will go on for?

The CCS letter is usually the last one, as long as you don't contact them.

I have also had two letters from Parking Eye and one from CCSCOLLECT Debt Collectors telling me that they intend to recover the full amount owing of now £110.00. I have read the posts concerning this and am holding fast on my intention not to pay but am just slightly concerned as to whether or not they could put the charge against me on my credit rating as an unpaid debt. Maybe someone could clarify this point for me.

The only way it could affect your credit rating is if they ever took you to court and you lost the case and then you did not pay any charges awarded by the court, it is not going to happen so stop worrying.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

All good advice, except to say it would not be a "fine" awarded by the court, it would be a civil charge. Fines are only for criminal cases.

Of special interest is that the action was brought against the Private Parking Company after the invoice was paid.
Liability of the leasing company may have been an issue but I do not have the case
details.

In my case, I took my wife shopping and parked in a retail park in Havant Hampshire. I didnt see any signs or parking restrictions limiting the free parking to 2 hours, and we were in the shops on the retail park for a little over 3 hours, spending a great deal of money.

I am so angry I am going to do what all Englishmen do when faced with adversity....I am going to write a letter, not to Parking Eye as that would be a waste, but to Sports Direct, Next, Peacocks, Halfords, Hobbycraft,Pet city & Laura Ashley as they must have appointed Parking Eye to spy on the customers so I will complaining about the way they treat their customers and stating that I will never visit the retail park again....
That should sort them out.
As to Parking Eye I will ignore the Invoice and subsequent letters thanks to this site. Thanks

Hi
I also just received one from Havant Parking Eye - after filling my car up mistakenly with petrol instead of diesel I broke down here. Waited for Auto Fuel Fix (superb company) to drain my tank and get me going, £180 + a wasted fill up of petrol, then a fill up of diesel another £50 and got going to receive a parking eye notice on Sat. What a month, thanks for your advice, has anyone had a court order from Parking Eye re Havant, what an expensive trip out !!!

Could you please explain what you mean by "court order". Don't forget that no law has been broken and this is purely a civil matter.

If PE have issued a court claim, you will be the first ever. If you were merely asking whether anyone else has had one, the answer is no, PE just don't do court

So glad I found this post, I've just had a Parking Eye fine but I get scared of this kind of stuff when all the reminders start. Is it really just ok to ignore this and the subsequent money chasers?
any way to make it stop?

Absolutely, ignore everything, Parking Eye have never issued a court claim
any way to make it stop?

It stops after 3 or 4 letters when they finally realise they're wasting their money sending letters that elicit no response.
