Glad I have inspired you SW

I went to local shops with a friend but didn't get anything in the charity shops. However they were having a sale in Poundland and everything was 90p

so stocked up on toothpaste & pack of 3 toothbrushes. Then went to card factory for birthday cards 2 x 59p 1 x 79p. We stopped for a sit down half way round as my back was aching and had a cup of tea in one of the cafes £1. Also bought some sugar free Tunes at 50p for my medical stash & a pack of batteries £1 (round flat ones) for the weighing scales so no excuse must weigh myself in the morning ! All came to under £10

shopping / food spends Feb £250.39 / £300

Have pegged some washing out followed your tip SW re extra pegs as its really windy out there

Well done on being MSE. Its freezing here but nice in a way. I am getting excited about my garage. Lots of work involved. I reckon that will fill a few days of next week and keep me occupied.

I went to post office and had to write notes!!!!

I am following your example SW and decluttering today.

I've made a start on downstairs and already have 4 empty boxes from xmas deliveries for recycling

and have cleared the kitchen table and put the washing away. Have been up and down stairs half a dozen times so am now having a sit down..

Its sunny here today so the first load of washing is just spinning and about to go out on the line. The heating was on last night as it was really cold but is off today.

Should be a NSP/NPD today

The day started so well - sunny, windy morning so I had all windows open and some fresh air through the house. More tidying done and bathroom cleaned. 2 lots washing hung out.
Now its raining & grey outside. All washing brought in and it will finish off on airers apart from jeans which are on radiators waiting for heating to come on later tonight.

I have been considering a revamp in my kitchen as the tiles are a bit old fashioned. They are mostly dark green with some cream flowery ones dotted about. I saw some tile stickers in the £1 shop yesterday they are mosaic and have a 3d effect and sparkle in the light so I bought one to try - I would need to get 20 to cover all the cream ones and would probably get a few for spares, so about £25. I am tempted to go back on Tuesday (payday) as the one I bought looks really good and they are heat resistant & humidity resistant and can be wiped clean. I can use some of the money saved on the food/petrol budgets this month

Just noticed your milk purchase for £1, and am a bit annoyed that my co-op, and others in this area, sell milk at £1.39 for a 4-pinter...

...yes, it saves a car trip to a bigger / cheaper supermarket, but still...Grrr.

Well done Skint Again, you did really well. I just cleaned. I am trying not to go to supermarket but really fancy some mango. I will use up whats in freezer to save money. Payday at midnight tomorrow. Can't wait.

Sorry vic most places sell 4 pints for £1 here in the south. Maybe depends on which co-op you are with and their local supply. Why not email your area and ask them why they charge so much ?

I have just watched Shop Well for Less I cant believe how much that family spent ! They had over 200 pairs of shoes between them costing £12,000 :eek: and technology (ipads phones etc) in excess of £10,000 and they could save over £7000 swopping to own brands. OMG I cant believe it !

Gosh you were out and about before 8am on a weekend day?! I didn't get out of bed until 10.30 today! What a low-spend shopping trip - good for you. Those tile stickers sound like a great way to re-vamp your kitchen without costing a fortune - what a good find!

I think my Co-op is like Vic's - I can't remember exactly what it is but I know milk is significantly more expensive than at Tesco as is everything else, which is why I avoid it!

Those families with all that stuff might be trying to fill a void and maybe not even with their own money. I find it quite sad really that people do that. Of course some people can afford it and do genuinely use all the stuff, in which case good for them. But I have friends who have all this stuff, no money and not satisfied. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Fair enough they were a family of 6 kids (3 sets of twins :eek: ) but 3 year olds with over 30 pairs of shoes each including Hunter wellies and they went on the programme to be able to afford a holiday... just goes to show some people still do not know about MSE :money:but I suppose they pick extreme examples for these TV shows

Our co-op's prices have reduced dramatically recently for basics like eggs & milk & they do fruit and veg offers. Must depend on the regional area

I forgot to watch the programme. I will watch it on catch up. I love things like that.

Do you remember 'Bank of Mum and Dad' and 'Spendaholics' and also Alvin hall's programme (cant remember what it was called) from the early 90s?

I love anything about moneysaving. The best place to learn is here though.
