    Clearly, several posters on here have misunderstood what is being discussed.

    It has nothing to do with Calgon, or washing machines!!

    It is concerned with water softeners - a device you install in the home to soften all the water and which use a certain sort of salt.

    B AND Q still sell it instore, but mr divadee (who works there) said it sells out so quickly they cant get enough of it. people apparantly use it in there ponds as well as water softners

    Try the UK branch of the Culligan International Company - don't know if they're the cheapest though - but I like having the service people deliver my salt in case anything goes on the friz.
