    Hi,

We saved £150 through this site. And got better cover!

We were with Direct Line ( who don't provide a courtesy car) and are now with Churchill, saving £150 and the offer of a courtesy car should we need it after an accident etc.

The site was very easy to use, the star system is cracking - they give a star rating up to 5 stars for all the quotes the closest match for what you want from your insurance gets the most stars, ( you get multiple tick box options for selecting what is important to you i.e legal cover, breakdown cover, personal injury cover etc) a really good idea!
and best yet it saves your information so you don't need to re enter everything ever time you want a quote!

In short I heart gocompare.com and would recomend it to all!

Go Compare did nada for me, used them and was not impressed. After my car insurance issues I got quoted ridiculous amounts.

When you do Go compre for an internet quote the reason why they are all so cheap is because it makes assumptions unless the user is switched on to correct it, take out the voluntry xs and add windscreen/legal cover and court car....all standard with most high street insurers then watch the rela prices come up!!!!

I found the site very annoying.

My wife, as many healthcare and other professionals still goes by her maiden name and title.

The online quote system will not allow her to be married and "Miss". This meant I was not able to access a quote for my motor vehicle.

    Bah!

I'm having trouble with all the sites at the moment. My vehicle is a vauxhall combo van registered 1997. No site is recognising vauxhall combo's from pre 2000 and if I put the registration number in it comes up as a 5 door corsa! ... Had no trouble using these sites last year however... Any ideas?

    Hi fimonkey

Have you tried using the van comparison on Gocompare? You should be able to get a quote there...

I couldn't even obtain a quote from gocompare to see how they compared as I couldn't go past the first quote page. This is because gocompare don't have co-habiting as a marital status. If I'd ticked any other boxes I would have been giving fraudulent information.
    I'm very unimpressed.
  • We received our Motor Insurance Renewal this morning for our 2005 Clio. The premium quoted is £374.

I followed Martin's tips: 1. compared the comparison sites and 2. Decided to the pay the premium in full rather than through monthly direct debit.

    Result:

GO Compare came up with a quote for £178 from Admiral for insurance which is marginally better (the excess is lower on Admiral) than my existing insurance provider.

A saving of £196 yes ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY SIX POUNDS!!!!

    Thanks once again Martin!!:T

    Erik.

i think you're being a bit OTT as you would not have been giving fraudulent info - you needed to choose the closest possible choice (probably "single" if you are not legally married)

Then should you decide to goi ahead with any quotation originally derived from Go Compare then you need to check the possible answer options to this question with whatever insurer you contact. It may or may not affect the premium but you would have done nothing wrong.

    Hope this helps
