    May Goals:

Garden – will be spending loads of time in the garden getting it ready for all the vegetables we want to grow. Need to get DH to plant the seeds in the next few days.

    2017 Goals:
Buy the house we live in under Right To Buy – on hold until DH’s job is made permanent.
Clear at least £3000 of debt. - £872.64 of my own debt cleared so far.
Socialise more – not yet but now the weather is warming up we can have BBQ’s
Make a decent income from our smallholding. – still prepping for this. Will definitely have pigs this year but they are for us and not really to sell.

Stretch target – unfortunately all my spare money will be spent this month as I have a weekend away with the girls. I am going to set up a s/o for £100 to one of my debts so it comes out without me having to think about it. If I do that from 1/6 then I will ‘only’ need to find £600 by Dec to have cleared £3k.

    NSD’s – will aim for 16

Savings – s/o’s come out on the 1st.

Can I join in please? I have fallen completely off the money saving wagon and am hoping the thread will help to keep me motivated in what has the potential to be a very expensive month.

Today is not a NSD as overslept so came to lunch without any food. I wouldn't have been too bad except my lunch bag today also included the replacements for my food stash so had no way to tide myself over. Will get fuel and some other bits later so at least it should be a NSD tomorrow.

    Happy May everybody.
Aiming for 20 NSD again.Today was the first
£120 for household and £40 for me though I didn't use it all last month.
Money goes into savings on the first of the month, though it might be tomorrow with it being a bank holiday.
In January I aimed to loose 50 lbs. I am now aiming to loose 54 lbs:mad:
    No ones fault but mine.
Second aim was to make £2017 in 2017. Made a bit but could try a lot harder.
Need to de-clutter big time as it's getting me down having stuff all over the place.
    That's it for now.
    ilovetea xx

    Happy 01st May :)

It seem like only yesterday you were running the challenge Misstara - 4 months on and here we are!!! Thank you again for this month, following on from a great April with EagerElephant.

NSD Goal : Aim for 20 - That will give me Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday as a spend day, and 2 flexi-days.

    2017 Goal Review :

    1) Becoming Debt Free
I am hopefully going to clear the ones I have - although my car has yet to be sorted. I will use what I have in my EF first, then re-build that. I think I'll start a 'new car' fund too...

    2) Exercise/Be healthy
I will aim for 1 x Nature Walk/week, 2 x gym sessions/week, and aim to use the stairs (not lifts) at work. I am adding the odd evening home-workout when I feel inspired!

    3) Mindfulness.
I will do 10 minutes of Mindfulness every day, read at least 1 book on health/well-being and keep a mood diary to learn about and tame my ‘black dog’. Ok - A lot of resistance to this - I don't know why... So, I'm going to introduce a reward system to help me into the habit - like I did with exercise. I will squirrel away £150 for my birthday in November.. (There are about 30 weeks until then. At 5 sessions/week x 30 = £150). I am only allowed the money if I have earned it. If not - it goes to charity.

    4) Mortgage
I will keep saving £200/month in my Help To Buy ISA. My EF fund is going to be pretty empty post car - but will continue to also save - aiming for a 3 month EF [Target £4500.00] at £250/month.

    5) Overcoming anxiety
I am allowed £25/Month which I MUST spend on a social outing with other people, or I lose it. Go on 1 date this month.

I am feeling positive... I am back on form with my eating... Just meal prepped for the week, and have cut out all processed rubbish. I am allowed a cheat meal, and a few treats at weekend though. I will get a six pack if it kills me (it probably will haha!!!) :rotfl:

Hugs all - let's make May an awesome month!!! ;)
    DFD = August 2027 @ £250/month
Follow your heart & be true to yourself always
My life is full of abundance and prosperity
    NST Feb: Food & Spends = £216.51 / £290.00 NSD = 1 /15
Be kind - Eat well - Exercise - Be mindful

Aiming for 20 NSD this month. Need this to happen as I got distracted by my little one in asda and some %*#=# nicked my cash back from the till! I have a crime number but I'm not hopeful! What a start to May!

Oh well, apart from that I had the most fabulous bank holiday with my son. Even did a bit of gardening and visited my Dad (he's in a home). Then a park visit.

I'm well on track with weight/exercise but must be more disciplined about spending. Savings have gone by DD but I am going to have to work hard not to re direct any back to my current account by the end of the month.

Best of luck all! Yoda best! (Little reference in there although I know we're not really doing the theme)

Ok - reporting in for Day 1. Not NSD - nipped to smkt for chilli beans, custard and milk (spent 9.18 on groceries) But have made a tray of flapjack for lunchboxes using up a pack of apple & cinnamon muesli which DS1 brought back from cadet camp, made soft rolls for lunchboxes, pasta sauce for tonight - and a huge pan of chilli using up the manky peppers from the fridge, some previously frozen peppers, 3 past-their-best courgettes and some wrinkly mushrooms - as well as a packet of salsa found in the pantry and the end of a tube of tomato puree. Some food saves there! :T

Also spent time last night/ this morning sorting out our car insurances - we had a multi car policy and renewal quote was over £2200:eek: (DD is on my car policy and only passed her test 10 months ago) Online sites got it down to under £1500 for both cars, with improved cover. Rang up current insurer to cancel renewal - and they managed to get it down straight off by £650 from their renewal - makes me so cross that they don't reward loyalty but penalise it instead . Stuck with our new online deals and we have even managed to get £50 cashback tracked already :) However, we clearly need to put more away each month to save for car insurance renewal whilst children are on the policy! (DS1 is 17 - so will also add him once he has passed)

Funds are tight this month as a result! Am hoping that (once VAT return has been done this month) we can take some funds out of OH's co (we left some dividends payments in there just over a year ago) and get back on keel.

    Targets:
Debt busting - small ebay sale today - funds transferred to 'extra pymts account' already
Weight/ fitness - the least said about today's efforts, the better!:o:p

    Today's thankfulness:
    * it's a Bank Holiday - no work/ school for any of us! :j
    * another ebay sale - money in/ clutter out :j
    * some YS items bought in small Tesc0 shop
    * playing board games with the smalls

Thank you for adding me :) I shall update my signature with my number..

I've decided to try 16 NSDs this month - today I have spent the day indoors catching up with housework, so have managed to keep my debit card in my purse

I have set up a DD for savings, linking into one of the other challenges I've signed up for - the 365 day penny challenge

I have set myself a budget and will be debt free in 36 months if I stick to it this time :o I need to wean myself of off the tumble drier, that will be my main challenge with this wet weather...

I aim to run three times a week and walk the dog each day.

Today I'm grateful to be up and about after spending the last couple of days waiting for antibiotics to start working - I have a tooth abcess:eek:
