I have no idea what happened about bulbs either DIA. I keep meaning to replace the one in my hallways and then resenting spending £4 on somewhere I don't intend to stay, but that's silly because I will have to sort it before I go!
Dishwashers are a little more expensive than I thought, but will be on my list for the longer term. We will get there

Sorry to hear about the much loved shabby shoe departure.
I've just had the same thing with light bulbs. I have a squillion screw bulbs, quite a few thin bayonet ones but no normal bayonets which is all I need in my house!!! £7 for 2!!!! I want the lampshade included for that!
I'm not a fan of dishwashers. I'm not a fan of washing up though either!!!! It's a shame that licking the plate isn't a hygienic way to keep them clean!!!0 -

I have done sort of well today. I took in lunch and coffee. Last Thursday I bought both. I walked 40 minutes to save fares so I still have enough from today’s fares budget for tomorrow. I spent £2.20 on a coffee at lunchtime. A friend at work was on a TV quiz show today so a few of us went to a bar to watch her on TV. I bought a colleague a drink and I had one. I don’t regret it as she is generous to the team but it cost me £11
I have packed lunch again tonight for tomorrow
I decided to pass on our Christmas drinks next week. Too pricey and I’ve had an expensive month already…:o
I had a good day at work. It is good to WFH but I also enjoy working as part of a team too.
Still thinking about the Karch3r steam cleaner.
The house is a mega mess today, maybe it is the glass of wine after work, as I can see it is a state, but I don’t seem to mind that much…
I’m thinking about the days I spend money. I should be able to spend 3 days a week and not spend 4 days a week. That is what I am working towards
Off to make tea, turn on my electric blanket, make a hot water bottle. Oh, the glamour of my nighttime routine
I hope you had a good day reader

Hi DIA. It does seem like everyone has a different way of dealing with NSD's but I have YNAB and I'm going to try and use it again starting the new year so I think it will be the same as I have been treating my spreadsheet and every penny is budgeted. I think I'll give up on the NSD's and just report when I don't stick to budget.
I too am shocked at the price of bulbs, I have found B&M to be the cheapest as they do multi-packs and they work out a lot cheaper.
Take care.

All this talk about NSDs got me thinking so I thought I would post on NSDs. I love NSDs because:
They provide the proof that I don’t need to buy coffee or chocolate or papers or any of the other props of daily life. I can in fact be happy just being alive.
When I have been spending too much out of a habit a NSD resets the clock, allows me to breathe out, refocus on my goal and become mindful again
They confirm I always have more than I need. We generally do. I often think I have nothing in to make a meal, but on a NSD when buying is not an option, I always find something and the something is always good.:)
Not buying boosts my creativity. Last week I did not want to break a NSD by buying freezer bags. I researched. I used my lidded stainless steel bowls. So, a solution that is money saving AND ecological. Result. :money:
NSDs help me with deferred gratification. I can’t have it tomorrow, but I can the day after, or the day after that. (This defines my entire DF Journey ) The thing I want today will not disappear. I can have it. I don’t choose to have it today. That’s all.
They make me feel wealthier. I can’t increase the available money I have. I can shrink the days the money has to cover.
I have always been a rebel or an independent thinker (depends on your view point) and in this crazy, consumerist, money-driven society when we are pushed to spend, spend, spend, it’s nice to say, ‘no, actually, I don’t want to spend today.’
Have a lovely Saturday evening
