The "Save 12k in 2016" Thread!

So, the title is pretty self explanatory, but this is the place to be in 2016

In 2016, the aim is to save £12k (or, any other amount if you like!) from 1st January 2016 til 31st December 2016. I know it's early, but it gives you the time to plan for how you are going to do it!

RULES:
- This challenge starts on 1st January 2016 00:00 and finishes on 31st December 2016 23:59.
- Everything saved MUST be done between these two dates.
- Any interest gained during this challenge on your savings can be counted!

I'd like to join please. Feels like only yesterday I was joining the 2015 thread. I was number 139 in last years thread, if there are any numbers higher up the table available I would like one of those please.

I'm aiming to save £8000 in 2016, very ambitious but I'll try my best.

Rather embarrassingly, I am one of the people who disappeared from the 2015 challenge without providing any updates (sorry about that

), even though I did actually achieve my target.

Anyway, I promise to try and be better this year - please put me down for £5000.

Thanks SlowlyFading for doing this again, I'm sure we do all appreciate it. I wouldn't have kept on the straight and narrow for these last 3 years without the motivation of this thread.
