Self employed freelance IT Technician (started 8 weeks ago), I get my hands dirty 20 hours a week spend 1 hour a week cleaning my car and 9 hours a week looking at pron .... erm ..... sorry .... researching new products and potential customers.
I make about £400 per month, and have very few overheads ..... less than £70 per month, no one looks over my shoulder and I am accountable to no one. I take fridays off, dont work weekends, and do my accounts friday morning whilst sitting in my underpants drinking coffee and eating bacon sandwiches wondering if I could get an extra day off next week.
Previously I have worked for other people who wanted 12 hour days, took all the credit for jobs 'well done' and then whined when they had to pay me sick pay for a week. Never again !!0 -
i'm 19 and currently on 4.80 an hour though have been on 5.95, 5.94 and 4.00 an hour previously

I was a full time local radio journalist on 16K for a 6 day week. No benefits other than the basics of sick pay and holiday. Made redundant earlier this year.
Now I'm a freelance journo, shift rates vary from place to place, freelance voiceover artists, again rates vary GREATLY and neither work is guaranteed. I'm looking for full time work againComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Got any tips on picking up clients? I'd like to take up technician/repair work as a sideline, but the major issue for me would be finding clients and work.
If he's working 20hrs a week for £400 a month, I don't think you want any tips for earning £5/hr... Hopefully it was a typo and he means £400 a week!0
